Hossein Jaberi Ansari, the Special Assistant to Iran’s Foreign Minister in Political Affairs, met with Syrian President Bashar Assad on Monday in Damascus to exchange views on the latest developments in Syria.

“Iranian government and parliament explicitly condemn the Saudi aggression against Yemen and we hold that the Yemeni crisis has no military solution,” said Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Parliament Speaker’s Special Aide for International Affairs.

The Iranian diplomat made the remarks on Monday while meeting with Alexander Faite, Head of the Red Cross delegation in Yemen.

“Undoubtedly, what is happening in Yemen is a big historic catastrophe and unfortunately the will of superpowers have barred the stop to war, serious humanitarian aides to the wronged people f Yemen, and the success of Red Cross operations,” lamented the Iranian official.

Also in this meeting, Mr. Faite, for his part, said that Red Cross is eager to have effective dialogue with the Islamic Republic of Iran and other countries to deliver humanitarian aids to Yemen and bolster political process to resolve the crisis in the impoverished Arab country.
