TEHRAN – Three Iranian films won several awards at the International Peace & Film Festival held in Orlando, in the U.S. state of Florida from January 18 to 22, the organizers announced.

“Release from Heaven”, an acclaimed animated movie by Ali Nuri Oskui, won the awards for best narrative and best cinematography, and also the Avant-Garde award, an honor given to the film with the highest level of technical achievement used to present a story.

The acclaimed animation is about a female writer and teacher, who accompanies two of her students on an inner spiritual journey in a war-torn country.

“Track” by Reza Golchin, won the award for best short documentary. The film follows elementary school children on their ways to school in the northern Iranian region of Talesh.

“Hypnotism” by Arshia Zeinali also received the Judges Choice Award.  The film tells the routine story of the people who are thoroughly involved in modern life in which their human identity is being manipulated by changes in their subconscious mind and all seem to have fallen into a self-made sleep.
