TEHRAN – Iran is expected to export over one million tons (mt) of sponge iron by the end of the present Iranian calendar year (March 20), IRNA reported quoting the head of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) as saying.
The exports of sponge iron, also known as direct-reduced iron (DRI), surpassed 600,000 tons in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21-December 21, 2017), Mehdi Karbasian said.
