TEHRAN – Presidential Chief of Staff Mahmoud Vaezi has appointed Ali Jannati as his advisor.

In a decree on Saturday, Vaezi described Jannati as an experienced, committed person, and wished him success at his new post.

Ali Jannati, the son of Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, served as the minister of culture and Islamic guidance from 15 August 2013 until his resignation on 19 October 2016.

He has also served as the governor of Khuzestan and Khorasan provinces, and was Iran’s ambassador to Kuwait from 2006 to 2010.
