TEHRAN– Despite the cancellation of schools and sport events in Tehran in the last 3 days, the bad air is still hovering over the mega city. Also traffic restrictions have been enforced in the last two days but some critics are calling for closing of all offices, banks, and organizations to lower the pollution level.

The authorities have imposed restrictions on road traffic and trucks, and heavy vehicles are banned from entering the city centers.

Air pollution is normal in this time of year in Iran’s major cities sometimes even forcing government offices to shut their doors.

There are reports that the schools in Tehran will remain closed tomorrow for the third consecutive day.

The air pollution in Iran is approaching a serious level, hospitalizing lots of people with heart problems and other illnesses every year.
