TEHRAN – Wolverhampton Wanderers has joined QPR and Fulham in the race for Iranian striker Saman Ghoddos.

The Championship teams sent scouts to watch Saman Ghoddos in action for Swedish side Ostersunds in their Europa League defeat to Athletic Bilbao on Thursday.

The Iranian striker is in prolific form in 2017, scoring 15 goals and setting up a further nine for a side managed by Englishman Graham Potter. Though with Ostersunds director Daniel Kindberg telling Aftenbladet last month that Ghoddos would be valued at around £4.6 million, Wolves could have an advantage over QPR in particular.

The Iranian-Swedish midfielder has decided to wear the jersey of Iran’s national football team in September despite being invited to play for Sweden.
