TEHRAN – “Pet Man” by Iranian director Marzieh Abrarpaidar has won the Best Animation of Character Award at the 10th Canterbury Anifest in England, the organizers have announced.

The 2D animation is the story of an animal dealer who falls asleep in his shop and has a nightmare in which he finds himself caught in an animal cage. He manages to escape and seeks to rescue other animals, but every time he is faced with an obstacle. He finally awakes from his nightmare but still feels surrounded with uncertainty and fear of the animals.

The international animation festival was held in Canterbury on September 29 and 30.
