Iranian para archer Zahra Nemati is determined to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics once again.

Nemati is the first Iranian woman to win an Olympic or Paralympic gold medal at London 2012.

She also made history by securing a spot for Iran not only at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, but Olympics as well.

“My goal is to make the Olympic team for the second time. I know I have a difficult task ahead of me but will do my best to make my dream come true,” Nemati told Paralympic.ir.

“I have recovered from the hand injury and I want to have a good performance in the upcoming events,” she added.

Nemati is preparing for the World Archery Para Championships which will take place in Beijing, China from Sept. 12 to 17.

“I did well in the World Ranking Tournament in Czech Republic in July and I am ready to partake in the World Archery Para Championships. I cannot promise of winning the medal but can promise to do my best,” the Iran’s flag-bearer in the 2016 Olympic Games stated.

At London 2012, Nemati set a Paralympic record and won the gold medal in the women’s individual recurve W1/W2. She also claimed a bronze medal in the women’s team recurve open.

At Rio 2016, the para archer also seized the women’s individual recurve open title.
