Iranian Leader’s senior adviser Ali Akbar Velayati, while noting that Iran had no problem with forming bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia, advised the Arab country not to interfere with internal affairs of regional states.

Ali Akbar Velayati, Head of Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council, touched upon the upcoming visit of a Saudi delegation to Tehran explaining “Tehran and Riyadh had reached agreements on the issue of Hajj rituals which were held appropriately.”

He noted that Iranian and Saudi Arabian delegations are expected to make visits to their closed embassies in the other side, which marks a positive step forward.

The official later noted that Iran’s military bases were part of the country’s security and no entity was allowed to make visits to those sites. On recent actions of the US in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Velayati urged IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano to take lesson from earlier incidents and not to be affected by US temptations.

Leader’s advisor stressed that no individual, event Amano, was permitted to observe Iran’s military sites.

At another part of his remarks, the official recalled recent visit to Turkey of Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces and described the event as a historic and decisive one. As two neighboring countries with age-old history of ties, Iran and Turkey enjoy developing ties.

Regarding the issue of referendum in the Iraqi Kurdistan, Ali Akbar Veleyati said Iran backed territorial integrity of Iraq and all other regional countries; “the referendum initiative goes against solidarity of Iraq,” he underlined.

Governments of Iraq and Iran would not agree with the move as it proves to be against national identity of the neighboring country.

“Referendum would undoubtedly cause damages to Iraq and would lead to disintegration of the country,” Velayati explained.

The official, while pointing to recent comments on Iran issued by Emirati officials, adding “UAE authorities have always made baseless remarks against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Leader’s senior advisor also underscored that killing of Myanmar Muslims resided among one of the most illogical actions ever taken place on earth.

“Officials of Myanmar make the fake and racist claim that Muslims had no present in the South East Asian country thousands of years ago,” maintained the official.

Velayati reiterated that the policy pursued by Myanmar was doomed to fail and would merely turn the South East Asian country into a second Zionist regime.

The official urged international communities to take more serious measures in defending rights of Muslims residing in Myanmar.

On remarks made by US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, he said the anti-Iranian statements were commonly issued by Americans. Ali Akbar Velayati stated that Americans would concede a defeat in the region given recent triumphs in Deir Ezzor, Mosul, Aleppo and the impending victory in Raqqa.

“Legitimate Iraqi and Syrian governments are on the track of obtaining successive victories while the US is left with no influence inside the region,” he underlined.

He stressed that the words by Nikki Haley were not new and had no effect on the Islamic Republic of Iran; “they merely seek to violate the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) while the world is backing Iran’s nuclear deal with the 5+1 group of countries.”
