TEHRAN  – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani derided the Israeli and US leaders’ UN speeches, saying even the Antarctic penguins would be ashamed to support a regime like Israel, after Netanyahu talked about penguins as supporters of Tel Aviv.

In comments on Wednesday, Shamkhani scorned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s UN speech as another episode of the annual “childish shows.”

Considering the international aversion to the Zionist regime of Israel and to Bibi, the killer of Palestinian women and children, even the Antarctic penguins would not bear the shame to support such child-murdering regime, he noted.

His remarks came after Netanyahu said in his UN speech that he has visited six continents, saying he has heard that penguins in the seventh, Antarctica, are “enthusiastic supporters of Israel.”

Responding to Bibi’s remarks, Iranians took to twitter, with posts saying “#ShutupNetanyahu.”

Other posts integrated the penguin theme, with a photo of penguins lining up to get eaten by a whale, with the line “how penguins reacted when they heard Netanyahu saying that even the penguins like Israel,” Israeli websites reported.

Elsewhere in his comments, Shamkhani also slammed US President Donald Trump’s UN speech as an indication of his “shallow understanding of the international treaties and their legal basics.”

The international community deems Trump’s comments on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) unimportant, he added, saying the US president’s advisors had better remind him to forget about the pre-election atmosphere and remind him that theatrical behaviors could not undermine the other countries’ resolve.

Highlighting Iran’s determination to safeguard its legitimate rights without being affected by the “Hollywood-style hullabaloo”, Shamkhani said the new US administration’s stance on the JCPOA is a mockery of negotiations and indicates the lack of US commitment to the principles of diplomacy.

Instead of futile attempts to damage Iran’s image in the world, Trump had better figure out how to prevent his plummeting position in the US public opinion and the international community, he added.

In his UN speech on Tuesday, Trump accused Iran of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the region. He also declared the JCPOA all but dead, saying it was an “embarrassment” to the US.

Following his speech, Twitter was abuzz with “#ShutupTrump” messages.
