New Iranian ambs. to Japan, China appointed

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed Morteza Rahmani-Movahed and Abdolnaser Hemmati as ambassadors of Iran to Japan and China respectively. Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed Morteza Rahmani-Movahed and Abdolnaser Hemmati as ambassadors of Iran to Japan and China respectively.

Proposed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani approved their appointment as new ambassadors of Iran to two East-Asian countries.

Rahmani-Movahed has studied international law and was advisor to Iranian Foreign Minister. He also has served as the deputy director of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Iran’s ambassador to New Zealand and Iran’s Consulate General in Shanghai.

Hemmati has a PhD in economics and is faculty member at Tehran University. He has previously served as the president of Central Insurance of Iran and CEO of Iran’s Bank Melli.
