<p>In the quarterfinals, she defeated her rival from Uzbekistan to push his way to the semi-final game where she beat Chinese Taipei’s Tsui-Ping Ku 5-0.</p>
<p>Sara Bahmanyar received the Gold medal of female Kumite -50kg by edging France&#8217;s Alexandra Recchia 5-1 in the final.</p>
<p>Also, in male Kumite -75kg, Iran’s Bahman Asgari managed to win bronze medals. He edged German rival 5-0 in the bronze contest. The second gold bronze of Iran was earned by Majid Hassan Nia in male Kumite -60kg.</p>

<p>The team which participated in the competition with Islamic dress code had gained one victory over Jordan (70-62) and conceded two defeats against Lebanon (88-75) and Syria (68-61) in the preliminary round.</p>
<p>It should be noted that the permit to attend international events while observing the Islamic dress code was granted to Iranian women basketball teams some two years ago.</p>

Uzbekistan and Japan received bronze medals of this category. This was the third back-to-back gold medal of Iran in male team kumite of the Asian Championships.</p>
<p>Iranian women athletes earned the other gold in female team kumite of the event. The team, comprising Shima Alesaadi, Hamideh Abbasali, Taravat Khaksar, and Zohreh Barzegar, defeated Uzbekistan, Jordan, and China respectively to advance to the final where they gained a 2-1 victory over Japan. Vietnam and China won bronze medals of this category.</p>
<p>On Saturday, Iran collected three gold, two silver and four bronze medals at the event which wrapped up today.</p>
<p>340 karate practitioners from 33 Asian countries participated in this edition of Asian Championships in Tashkent from July 15 to 21.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mahin Farhadizadeh, Head of the sports and women commission of the National Olympic Committee of Iran (NOC), said Saturday that a conference on ‘Women, Sports, and Gender Equality’, the first of its kind in the country, will be organized sometime in November in Tehran.</p>
<p>She added that the conference aims to discuss the latest scientific and research findings on women’s sports and address challenges and ways to further improve the field.</p>
<p>According to her, the conference will also tackle issues such as “culture of women’s sports society”, “women and sports for all”, and “women and international sports.”</p>
<p>She also noted that Iran will host the women&#8217;s sports commission meeting 2019 Asia, adding that they are now waiting for a response on the scheduled date for the event.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Iranian team earned an 18-14 win over China A in the semifinal of 5th Asian University 3&#215;3 Basketball Championship on Saturday to earn a ticket to the world event.</p>
<p>In the final match, the team conceded a 16-5 defeat to a representative of Chinese Taipei and finished runner-up.</p>
<p>The team had advanced to semis with four consecutive wins against China (14-13), Mongolia (19-12), Chinese Taipei (8-5), and Hong Kong (19-13).</p>
<p>5th Asian University 3&#215;3 Basketball Championship was held in Kinmen, Chinese Taipei from 8-11 May with a total of 20 elite university teams in participation.</p>
<p>The 2019 edition of 3&#215;3 FISU World University League will be held at China&#8217;s Xiamen from October 30 to November 03.</p>

<p>According to the website of Iran’s Football Federation, Belarus will arrive in Tehran on March 1 and the two teams will play two friendly matches on March 2 and 5.</p>
<p>Both matches will be held at Tehran’s Ararat Stadium at 11:00 AM local time.</p>
<p>The Iranian team is doing preparations for the second round of 2020 AFC Women&#8217;s Olympic Qualifying Tournament which is going to be held in April.</p>

<p>The 20-year-old Mahsa Yarkhah stunned the viewers by pocketing 4 gold medals in the female’s category, two in slalom and two in giant slalom.</p>
<p>Donya Tabari was the next successful female athlete in the tournament and managed to gain three silver medals, one in slalom and two in giant slalom.</p>
<p>Zahra Alizadeh won one silver and one bronze medal in slalom while Zarha Moghdid managed to earn two bronze medals for her country.</p>
<p>Alireza Ahmadpour won the only bronze medal of Iran in men’s slalom event.</p>
<p>Dubbed as ‘SES Alpine CUP 2019’, the tournament was held from January 29 to February 01 in Armenia.</p>

<p>UMBRO Futsal Awards 2018 has announced the nominees for best futsal goalkeeper of the world and the name of Iran’s national futsal team member Tavasoli is seen among others.</p>
<p>She will compete for the award with Ana Catarina Silva Pereira (POR), Ana Etayo Garde (ESP), Anastasia Ivanova (RUS), Bianca Castagnaro Moraes (BRA), Jhennifer Aparecida De Oliveira Camargo, Maria Antonia Mascia (ITA), and Silvia Aguete Outón (ESP).</p>
<p>Tavasoli won the AFC Women’s Futsal Championship in May for the second successive year with Iran’s national team.</p>
<p>The last year’s award went to Estela García Rodero from Spain.</p>
<p>The winners of the UMBRO Futsal Awards 2018 will be announced on January 10.</p>
