Trump Says He Is ‘Medication Free’

TEHRAN (Iran News) – US President Donald Trump said he was “medication free” and revealed more details of his fight with COVID-19 in a televised interview aired Friday, one week after he was hospitalized with the virus.

The US president appeared on Fox’s Tucker Carlson Tonight for what the White House described as an on-air “medical evaluation” conducted remotely by Fox contributor doctor Marc Siegel.

“Right now I’m medication free, I’m not taking any medications as of, you know, probably eight hours ago,” Trump told Siegel.

It was unclear when the interview, which Carlson said was filmed by a White House camera crew, was taped.

Trump’s doctors had previously said they have given him an aggressive cocktail of therapeutic drugs including the steroid dexamethasone, usually associated with serious COVID-19 cases, AFP reported.

Trump also said he had been tested again for the virus.

“I have been retested and I haven’t even found out numbers or anything yet but I’ve been retested, and I know I’m at either the bottom of the scale or free,” he said.

He said he did not know when his next test would be, adding that it was “probably tomorrow… they test every couple of days.”

Trump said the virus had sapped his energy levels, adding he “didn’t feel very vital.”

He also said he “didn’t have a problem with breathing.” His doctors have said he was put on supplemental oxygen at least twice, and the president later said that lung tests had shown “some congestion in there.”

Trump said he did not know where he had contracted the virus, adding: “It’s highly contagious. That’s one thing you learn, this is a contagious disease.”

David Cameron Wants Biden to Win

TEHRAN (Iran News) – David Cameron has strongly indicated he thinks a Joe Biden win in the US election would be a good outcome for the UK and wider world, calling Donald Trump a block on international cooperation over pressing issues such as the climate emergency.

In a radio interview to promote the paperback edition of his memoir, the former prime minister also said he felt “big beasts” such as Jeremy Hunt should be in the UK cabinet, and obliquely chastised Boris Johnson for missing the first five emergency meetings about the coronavirus, the Guardian reported.

While David Cameron stressed he was “not going to get involved in the US election”, he made his feelings plain about the outcome when asked who of Trump or Biden would be a better president for the UK.

“I think that on all the, as it were, international issues – you want to see global action on climate change; you want to see action to continue to deal with the scourge of global poverty; if you want to see a promotion of trade and anti-protectionism, it’s hard to argue that Donald Trump is good for those things,” he told Times Radio.

“I profoundly believe that we need that international cooperation to cope with these big problems, whether it’s terrorism, or climate change, or global poverty, or whatever. And an America that withdraws from those things makes it far more difficult to achieve anything. Whoever it is, we need engagement.”

There was a “kernel of truth” in some Trump views, such as some European nations not paying enough toward NATO, Cameron said, but he added, “I know Trump drives everyone mad, and he certainly drives me mad a lot of the time.”

Bin Salman’s attempt to deceive Palestinians fruitless: Jordanian MP

Increasing speculation about ‘Deal of the Century’, which is scheduled to be announced after Ramadan by Senior Advisor to the US President Jared Kushner, indicate that there are no rights for the Palestinians in this plan and alternative areas are considered for the Palestinian to form Palestinian state.

According to news reports, Jordan has opposed the plan so far, but the US and Saudi Arabia’s pressure on this country due to its economic problems may eventually lead to Jordan’s approval of ‘Deal of the Century’.

Based on media reports, the US, the EU and the Arab countries on the Persian Gulf have agreed to help the implementation of this agreement.

Earlier, based on a document which has been leaked from the Israeli regime’s Foreign Ministry; a Hebrew-language medium, revealed the details of ‘Deal of the Century’, according to which the Palestinian state will be formed without having an army and weapons.

Referring to ‘Deal of the Century’, Mustafa Yaghi, Member of the House of Representatives of Jordan said to Mehr News Agency that any actions and solutions which will not lead to the formation of the Palestinian state and end of Zionist’s occupation and return to “the line of June 4, 1967”, are not accepted by Palestinians and Jordanians.

Basically, the issue of the alternative land to form Palestinian state has been rejected by Jordanian and Palestinian leaders, and even Palestinians living in Jordan are opposed to this matter, he added.

He mentioned that the successive attempts by the US administration to publish some of the provisions of ‘Deal of the Century’ are only measures to evaluate the reactions to this deal.

Jordanian MP said that the efforts of Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and others to deceive the Palestinians by giving money to them will never succeed, adding, ‘Deal of the Century’ is nothing more than an agreement that will ultimately not lead to solve the Palestinian issue.

The fate of this plan will be similar to other initiatives such as the Arab Peace Initiative, etc., which have been faced with Palestinian opposition, Yaghi stressed.

He noted that Jordan will not also accept a deal over monitoring the holy sites of Islam and Christianity in Jerusalem.

Ayatollah Khamenei Urges Promotion of Islamic Awakening in Region

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for the expansion of Islamic Awakening and resistance movements in the regional Muslim countries in order to counter the US and Israeli plots.

In an address to a gathering of Iranian authorities, ambassadors of Islamic countries, and participants in the International Islamic Unity Conference, held in Tehran on Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei urged the Muslim clerics and social elites to push for the promotion of the Islamic Awakening movement and the resistance morale.

“Strengthen the Islamic Awakening and resistance movement in the region as much as you can, since the promotion of such thought and morale is the sole way to save the region,” Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.

Pointing to the US and its allies’ confusion about the growing trend of Islamic Awakening and tendency for resistance, the Leader said the Islamic Republic has become a strong power and a role model thanks to forty years of resistance.

“The threats and evil move by the US and the Zionist regime (against Iran) will be futile like the past and will definitely end in failure,” Ayatollah Khamenei stressed.

“The reason that the world’s arrogant powers, most notably the criminal US or the Great Satan, are sensitive to the West Asia region is the morale of welcoming Islam and Islamic awakening among the region’s nations,” the Leader added.

Wherever Islam has conquered the hearts of people, the arrogance has received a slap in the face, Ayatollah Khamenei noted, stating, “We strongly believe that the arrogance will once again get a slap in the face in this region (Middle East) from the Islamic Awakening.”

The Leader then recommended the rulers of Muslim states to stop abiding by the US, and deplored the US president’s insults to Saudi Arabia and his move to ‘milk’ the Saudi rulers.

Last year, US President Donald Trump said the US target has been “milking” the Saudi kingdom for years.

Such humiliating comments by the US government are insults to the Saudi people and the regional Muslim nations, the Leader noted.

While some rulers of Muslim countries have sided with the US in the criminal moves against Palestine and Yemen, the Palestinian and Yemeni nations will definitely emerge victorious and the US and its followers will suffer defeats, the Leader added.

As regards the Saudi-led war on Yemen, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “Despite all hardship and crimes that people of that country (Yemen) are suffering from the actions by Al Saud, its allies and their supporting government, namely the US, victory will be definitely for the Yemeni nation and Ansarullah.”

Ayatollah Khamenei then noted that Palestine will also win victory on the basis of divine promises, saying the Zionist regime of Israel has increasingly lost its power, which has been obvious in the length of the wars that Israelis have launched against Hezbollah and Palestine in recent years.

Hailing the Iranian nation’s four-decade-long resistance in spite of pressures, Ayatollah Khamenei scorned the US and Israeli threats against the Iranian nation.

Highlighting the failure of the US policy of threats and sanctions against the Islamic Republic, the Leader concluded that “unity, rapport and solidarity” is the only way for the Islamic world to rise to the challenges.

The 32nd Islamic Unity Conference kicked off in Tehran on Saturday with representatives from 100 countries in attendance.

The annual gathering was held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in order to lay the ground for stronger unity and solidarity among Muslims and provide appropriate solutions for their problems.
