Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has underlined the need for national unity, saying the enemies are bent on sowing divisions and fueling mistrust among people as part of their malign designs against the country.

On Saturday and Sunday Muslims in any part of the world and in the Islamic Republic of Iran, too, celebrated one of the most auspicious and important eids of Islam no matter they were Shiites or Sunnis and they once again showed unity in marking the Islamic values but Muslims need to show more unity in other issues in the world like fighting world arrogance,  imperialism and defending Palestinians’ rights.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson hailed a recent meeting of Palestinian leaders as a sign of wisdom in the struggle against the Zionist regime of Israel.

Islamic countries stressed that global impact and irreparable economic and health damages which the virus has brought requires global unity and solidarity to defeat and contain the disease.

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Saturday night that all human beings should unite as one to combat the common enemy of the coronavirus.
