TEHRAN (Iran News) A delegation from the committee met with the Venezuelan ambassador to Iran at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on December 15.

During the meeting, Ebrahim Azizi, chair of the committee, invited the Venezuelan ambassador to visit Iran’s Parliament. He stated that the Islamic Republic “is always ready to support independent nations with a history of resisting colonialism,” naming Venezuela as a country that “has a strong record in confronting domination and imperialism.”

Azizi referred to Venezuelan historical figures from Simón Bolívar to Hugo Chávez, saying they left a “prominent legacy of anti-imperialist struggle.” He added that the United States pressures independent countries under various pretexts and “acts against nations seeking freedom and independence in the name of fighting terrorism.”

He argued that “the essence of the United States is support for terrorism and organized crime,” claiming that U.S. actions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon took place under such pretexts. “In practice, America has always backed terrorists and is essentially the founder of state terrorism through its intelligence and security organizations,” he said.

Azizi added that the U.S. is a major user and supplier of weapons of mass destruction and chemical weapons, insisting that Washington “has never sought to fight terrorism or defend human rights.”

Commenting on U.S. actions in the Caribbean, Azizi said Washington’s behavior serves as a tool to undermine Venezuelan national will. According to him, U.S. claims about combating drug trafficking are a façade for opposing “free and resistant nations.”

He stressed that Iran’s experience shows the importance of popular mobilization against U.S. pressure, saying, “Wherever America faces a resistant nation, it retreats.” He argued that mass mobilization is “the remedy” for countering U.S. threats.

Azizi also cautioned that the U.S. “is not honest in negotiations,” saying Washington uses dialogue as part of its pressure strategy. He said that if countries show determination and refuse to submit, “the U.S. will back down,” offering Venezuela Iran’s “experiences in resistance.”

He affirmed Iran’s support for Venezuela “as long as you stand against the United States.”

Azizi also referred to recent Iranian–U.S. tensions, saying that Iran responded to attacks on its nuclear centers by striking a U.S. base. He claimed that after Iran targeted a U.S. base in Qatar, Washington “immediately moved toward a ceasefire,” arguing that resistance—not negotiations—would deliver results.

Venezuela’s ambassador to Iran, José Rafael Silva Aponte, criticized what he called U.S. “double standards,” citing American naval operations in the Caribbean under the banner of anti-drug trafficking. He called these actions “an obvious lie,” saying some targeted vessels posed no threat and were not involved in drug smuggling.

The ambassador stated that Venezuela has activated its national defense system and placed its forces on alert, with popular militias and trained civilian units prepared to support the army.

Silva Aponte accused the U.S. of conducting a severe media war against Venezuela, adding that the country is prepared to counter “U.S. media terrorism.”

He said President Nicolás Maduro supports dialogue to prevent war but emphasized that such dialogue “does not come from a position of weakness.” He noted Venezuela’s historical tradition of fighting only in defense, not conquest, calling this a legacy of Bolívar and other independence leaders.

Expressing gratitude for Iran’s support, Silva Aponte declared solidarity with Iran and all nations “that have risen against oppression.” He said the United States seeks to “bring misery to the world,” and Venezuela will stand with Iran as long as it resists U.S. pressure.

Lawmakers Ali Khezrian, Ebrahim Rezaei, and Mohammad Reza Mohseni Sani also attended the meeting.

He made the comments after trips to Syria and Turkiye where he held talks with senior government officials to discuss the latest developments in Syria where terrorist groups have launched a fresh offensive against areas in the second city of Aleppo and elsewhere.

Together with Russia, Syria has carried out attacks on positions held by terrorists, killing hundreds of them in the past several days.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks at the quadrilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, Syria, and Turkey in Moscow. The meeting was held to discuss the normalization of relations between Turkey and Syria.

During the meeting, Iranian minister once again offered condolences to Turkey and Syria over the recent deadly earthquake and expressed hope that the living condition in the quake-hit areas would return to normal as soon as possible.

Saying that today the world is in a unique situation regarding international relations, the top Iranian diplomat stressed the world is going toward regionalism and the US power is declining.

Welcoming the negotiations between Syria and Turkey, the Iranian foreign minister said that the two countries can successfully resolve their bilateral issues through dialogue and deepen their cooperation based on a good neighborliness policy.

Emphasizing that military action will not solve any problem, Amirabdollahian announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to support the process of dialogue and help to implement the agreements reached between the parties in this regard.

Stressing the need for respecting and considering Syria’s national sovereignty in any political solution for Syria-related issues, Amirabdollahian suggested that the presence of the Syrian army on the borders and joint provision of security with the neighbors can solve the security concerns of Ankara and other neighbors and prevent the activities of terrorists and separatists as well.

“We believe that a strong and independent Syria will be able to overcome terrorism, separatists, the occupation of American forces and the theft of the country’s national resources,” he said, stressing the need for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the top Iranian diplomat urged the international community to take decisive measures against terrorism and the Israeli regime’s invasion of Syrian territory.

The Iranian foreign minister also wished success for Ankara in the upcoming presidential elections.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, for his part, blamed the United States for seeking to create a “Free Syria Army,” consisting of terrorists and militants, to serve as a tool against the legitimate government in Damascus.

“It’s no longer enough for the US to support the self-proclaimed Kurdish regions beyond the Euphrates River and flood the illegal armed units that they have formed with weapons,” TASS quoted Lavrov as saying.

“According to our data, the Americans have started to create the so-called Free Syria Army near the Syrian city of Raqqa, engaging local Arab tribes, along with militants from ISIL and other terrorist organizations. The goal is clear: to use these militants against Syria’s legitimate authorities in order to destabilize the situation in the country,” Lavrov noted.

Lavrov emphasized that the Russian and Syrian militaries had recently discussed the issue, agreeing on a model of joint actions in that field. “I hope that all planned steps will be successfully implemented,” the top Russian diplomat added.

According to him, Moscow believes that “blatant foreign interference in the region’s affairs is unacceptable, particularly when it involves military force;” and in this case, it is about “deploying foreign military units to Syrian soil.”

“It appears important to start discussing the issue of restoring disrupted transport and logistics ties between neighboring countries and resuming trade and economic cooperation without any barriers,” the minister said.

“It has been a key principle for all the countries present here to contribute to a safe and voluntary return of refugees and internally displaced persons to the places of their permanent residence in Syria as well as to ensure their right to receive support,” Lavrov added.

Major General Hossein Salami made the remarks after a meeting on Saturday with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf as the two discussed a recent move by the European Union to designate the IRGC as a “terrorist” entity.

Praising sacrifices made by the IRGC, particularly the IRGC’s Quds Force and its late commander General Qassem Soleimani, Salami said the top Iranian anti-terror icon “played the biggest and most leading role in eliminating [a manifestation of] worldwide terrorism,” referring to the Takfiri Daesh terrorist group.

“But for the IRGC’s endeavors, especially the Quds Force and the leadership of Martyr Soleimani, the volcano of terrorism created by the Americans would have engulfed the Europeans and the security that prevails in Europe today would have been destroyed,” the IRGC chief said.

“The fire [of terrorism] was reaching the edge of Europe and had it not been contained, it would have covered all the geographical levels of Europe; but the Europeans and Americans are accustomed to replacing  executioner with martyr, and oppressor with oppressed,” he added.

Salami called on the European governments to avoid committing their past mistakes, stressing that they will have to accept the consequences if they make a mistake again.

“Europe has not learned lessons from its past mistakes and thinks that it can undermine the glorious IRGC, which is empowered by faith, trust, strength and determination, with such statements,” he said, adding, “We are never worried about such threats or even acting on them, because the more opportunities our enemies give us, the stronger we act…but we advise the Europeans not to repeat their past mistakes.”

The European Parliament on Wednesday adopted an amendment which was added to an annual foreign policy report, calling on the EU and its member states to include the IRGC on their terror list. The parliament also passed another resolution on Thursday, calling for more sanctions against Iranian individuals and entities and putting the IRGC on the EU terrorist list over alleged human rights violations during the recent riots.

This is while Iran’s intelligence bodies have found footprints of American and other Western spy agencies in recent violent riots inside Iran which claimed the lives of dozens of people and security forces.

The move by the European Parliament has been strongly condemned by Iranian officials, commanders, and the Armed Forces.

Meanwhile in the meeting, Majlis Speaker announced on Saturday that if the European Parliament wants to close “the window of logic” and defend terrorism, the Islamic Republic will be ready for taking strong measures against any action.

If they want to damage the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the Majlis will be ready to counter, Qalibaf said after his visit to the IRGC headquarters and his meeting with the IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salaami.

The enemies do not have exact knowledge about “our nation and our IRGC” and the relations between the two, the speaker added to his words.

They think that the IRGC is just a military force like their own military forces, but they should know that the IRGC and Basij have come from the people and the nation, he underlined.

Qalibaf went on to say that General Soleimani who was assassinated by the US forces in Iraq over three years ago is today the most popular figure among the people, and he was from IRGC.

Such an analytical mistake made by the Europeans about the IRGC has to be put right, Qalibaf noted.

As the speaker stated, the European Parliament is an advocate of terrorism today as they support Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) which has killed and tortured over 17,000 Iranian people including women and children.

The Islamic Republic is powerful enough at the present time to strongly respond to any threats, he stressed.

The Iranian president made the remarks while speaking in a joint press conference with new Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, who arrived in Tehran on Tuesday on his first visit at the head of a high-ranking politico-economic delegation.

“From the point of view of Iran and the Iraqi government, security, peace and stability in the region are very important and therefore, the fight against terrorist groups, organized crimes, drug trafficking and any [source of] insecurity that threatens the region is among [issues of] the agreements and common will of the two countries,” Raisi said.

He added that only the countries in the region should ensure regional security, stability and peace, stressing, “The presence of foreign forces in the region does not bring in security at all but it is a problem in addition to our problems.”

As the US presence in Afghanistan and Iraq has failed to promote security, it would also fail to result in any outcome in other parts of the region, the Iranian chief executive said, emphasizing, “American forces withdrawal from the region can greatly definitely contribute to the security of the region.”

Elsewhere in the presser, Raisi said ties between Tehran and Baghdad are rooted in the two nations’ beliefs and expressed hope the two sides would further expand cultural, political, social and security cooperation.

“The presence of the Iraqi prime minister in the Islamic Republic of Iran is a turning point in the relations between the two countries and these negotiations can definitely be a major step towards improving ties,” he added.

The Iranian president noted that economic, trade, monetary and banking issues as well as the export of electricity and gas are also on the agenda of the talks between the two sides’ delegations.

Iran and Iraq have common stance on mutual, regional and international relations which would definitely help the two countries promote ties at regional and international levels, Raeisi pointed out.

The Iraqi prime minister said his country would not allow terrorist groups to use its soil to harm any country, particularly Iran.

Sudani added that the inseparable security of Iran and Iraq is complementary to each other and is a part of the regional security.

He said the Iraqi government is ready to establish a working mechanism with Iran to prevent any tension as it believes that dialogue and interaction are the best solution to the woes.

The prime minister hailed Iran’s advisory presence in Iraq and its role in the battle against Daesh terrorists and stressed the importance of strengthening joint cooperation to fight terrorism and illicit drugs.

Al Sudani stressed that Iraq is trying to pay Iran’s arrears through special mechanisms.

From Iraq’s view, interaction is the best way to avoid problems, he said emphasizing the Iraqi government’s commitment to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all common fields.

The Iraqi people and government do not forget Iran’s support against ISIS, he said.

He emphasized the importance of joint cooperation in fighting against terrorism and illegal drugs.

He noted that the two sides will discuss transferring crude.

Earlier on Tuesday and during the meeting after the welcoming ceremony, Raisi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran always supports the united nation and strong government in Iraq.

Emphasizing the determination of Iran to expand cooperation and improve the level of relations with Iraq in the economic, commercial, political, cultural, and security fields, he added that Iran seeks to develop exchanges with Iraq in various commercial and energy fields. “Holding regular meetings of the joint cooperation commission between the two countries can play an effective role in realizing this goal.”

“The relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq are privileged, and the strengthening and deepening of bilateral relations should lead to the expansion and improvement of the level of regional and international interactions in order to establish as much peace and stability in the region and the world as possible,” Raisi underlined.

For his part, Al-Sudani said that Iran has a privileged and excellent position in Iraq’s foreign policy, and the relations between the two countries are expanding in a favorable and satisfactory manner.

In recent days while the West has been trying to distract the attention of the world towards what is going on in the Islamic Republic, the Zionist regime continues its crimes against the Palestinians and there is no reaction from the international bodies as they have just been focused on Ukraine and Iran as if there is no other country in the world to monitor their events.

On Saturday the Palestinian Foreign Ministry urged international protection for Palestinians following the latest fatal shooting of a young man by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank, slamming the regime’s policy of willful killing of Palestinian people.

The official Palestinian Wafa news agency reported the death of the teenager, named as Fayez Khaled Damdum, on Saturday. It quoted eye witnesses as saying that Israeli forces opened fire on the 18-year-old, while he was driving a motorbike in the town of al-Eizariya in the south-central part of the occupied West Bank.

The shooting marked the latest instance of deadly violence in what has become the deadliest year since 2015 for the Palestinians residing in the West Bank. So far this year, at least 100 Palestinians have died as a result of the fatal violence staged by Israeli forces throughout the occupied territory.

The Palestinian foreign ministry called Damdum’s killing “a continuation of the systematic and widespread policies of the occupation represented in field executions, [as well as] willful and extrajudicial killings of our people with the aim of inflaming the situation.”

It held the occupying regime fully and directly responsible for “this heinous crime and other crimes of the Israeli occupation,” stressing that it would work with all international organizations, including the United Nations, so it can hold the occupation accountable for all of its crimes.

The ministry also urged the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to enable international protection for “our defenseless people” in the face of Tel Aviv’s atrocities.

In a separate development, the Gaza Strip-based Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, issued a strongly-worded statement aimed at Israel, warning the regime against continued violations of the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied city of al-Quds’ Old City.

The violations have seen the apartheid regime repeatedly preventing Muslim prayers at the site. The regime’s forces also recurrently provide protection for highly provocative tours of the compound by Israeli settlers.

Rawhi Mushtaha, a member of Hamas leadership, served the warning in an address to a huge gathering of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip that had been organized by the movement under the title “the Al-Aqsa is in Danger.”

Such infringements upon the holy site could lead to “explosions” in the region, the Hamas official said, condemning the Israeli regime for its reported “excavations” at the compound and its plans to impose spatial and temporal divisions there.

Mushtaha noted that Palestinians in Gaza held the Saturday march to draw Arab and Muslim leaders’ attention to the imminent danger threatening al-Aqsa.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has been the only real supporter of Palestinians and several times it has rushed to help them but it is the duty of the United Nations to protect countries against atrocities of other states through punitive measures but unfortunately it has turned into a tool in hands of the world powers and even when it wants to issue a strong resolution against the Zionist regime, it is vetoed mostly by the West or other Western veto-right power holders.

Palestinians need to be united against the Zionist regime to fight with its atrocities otherwise they will have to suffer more atrocities and bloodshed from this killing machine which continues its crimes in cold blood without any resistance from the international bodies.

The United Nations should know this point that there are other countries except Ukraine and Iran to pay attention to them but unfortunately currently, Ukraine and now Iran have turned into major issues on its agenda and all decisions and meetings are predominantly about Ukraine and it has left alone other states like Palestine.

Palestinians are subject to long-standing gross violations of human rights under the rule of a military apartheid system and they need more attention and support from the human rights bodies and the United Nations because the Zionists think of ethnic cleansing or making the Palestinians as their slaves and this should be stopped if those bodies real supporters of the human rights otherwise the killing machine will shed more blood and those bodies will be accountable for the crimes.

Speaking at a weekly presser held on Tuesday, Judiciary Spokesman Massoud Setayeshi touched upon U.S. terrorist activities aimed at imposing sanctions on the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and stressed: “During the past years, Iran has always been one of the biggest victims of various forms of terrorism, including various types of cyber-attacks.”

“These attacks were designed and carried out by the US administration and the Zionist regime, and in these attacks, Iran’s important infrastructure was damaged, which could have claimed people’s lives and destruction of properties, but it was neutralized by the measures of Iranian experts, He added.”

Setayeshi further stated: “The Americans are brazenly trying to apply a new pressure against Iran with a label that has always been abused by them, which is definitely doomed to failure and disgraceful for them.”

Albania cut diplomatic ties with Tehran after accused Iran of hacking government digital services and websites.

Iran has rejected the accusation that it was behind the attack as “baseless,” calling Albania’s decision to sever diplomatic ties “an ill-considered and short-sighted action.”

The two countries have been bitter foes since the Balkan state began hosting members of the terrorist “Mojahedin-e-Khalq (MEK)” on its soil over Washington’s request.

He added that this action had been born in line with protecting Iran’s national interests. Based on this, the document on ownership of the Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Bu Musa Island was issued under the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran government.

Iran reiterated its sovereignty over the three islands of Bu Musa, the Greater Tunb, and the Lesser Tunb in the Persian Gulf.

The islands of the Greater Tunb, the Lesser Tunb, and Bu Musa have historically been part of Iran, proof of which can be found and corroborated by countless historical, legal, and geographical documents in Iran and other parts of the world.

The Spokesman said that the assassins of Martyr Sayad Khodayi had been arrested, and legal order had been issued for them.

IRGC’s Colonel Sayyad Khodaei, a Military advisor for the Syrian Army and one of the Holy Shrine Defenders, was assassinated in an armed attack by two motorcyclists on Mojahedin-e-Eslam Street in Tehran in May.

The Spokesman, referring to the U.S. and the West’s procrastination toward the Vienna talks aimed at removing anti-Iran sanctions, called the move a U.S. artificial respiration to terrorist groups.

He further emphasized: “We expect the political institutions to stand up and deal decisively with appropriate and international legal provisions and measures.”

He also said that efforts are ongoing to release the Iranian Hajji, who was detained innocently by the Saudi government.

Because of the pejorative nature of the word, the identification of particular examples are often subject to political dispute and different definitions of terrorism.”

During the 1970s and 1980s, state sponsorship of terrorism was a frequent feature of international conflict. From that time to the 2010s there was a steady pattern of decline in the prevalence and magnitude of state support. Nevertheless, because of the increasing consequent level of violence that it could potentially facilitate, it remains an issue of highly salient international concern.

The U.S. Government, which has repeatedly engaged in sponsorship of terrorism as a feature of its foreign policy, provides its own definition in the U.S. State Department’s list of state sponsors of terrorism. Of course other Western states and big powers have also their own definitions and above all Israel which commits state-sponsored terrorism but tries to justify it or change the definition of this terminology.

The State of Israel has been accused of being a state-sponsor of terrorism,[61] and also committing acts of state terrorism.  We have seen many examples of this kind of terrorist acts from the Zionist regime especially when it comes to the Islamic Revolution, Lebanon or Palestine.

Recently an American professor of international law and former UN special rapporteur said the Israeli assassination of a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) last month was a clear violation of international law, noting that Israeli is guilty of “state-sponsored terrorism.”

In a terrorist attack in Tehran on May 22, Colonel Hassan Sayyad Khodaei was assassinated by two motorcyclists who shot him five times before fleeing the scene.

Khodaei was dismounting his car to enter his home in an eastern neighborhood of the Iranian capital when three bullets hit him in the head and two bullets in the hand.

“The assassination of Sayyad Khodaei … seems a clear violation of the right to life, defined in international law by Article 6(1) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights,” Richard Falk, a former special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, said in an interview with Press TV.

“This fundamental provision of international human rights law affirms an ‘inherent right to life’ enjoyed by all persons and is given further specificity by asserting that ‘no one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his life,’” he said.

He suggested that Falk was arbitrarily deprived of his life “given what we know about his life and activities at the time of the assassination.”

The New York Times on May 25 cited an intelligence official as saying that Israel had informed American officials that it was behind the assassination.

“The targeted killing of Khodaei was unsupported by any Israeli presentation of evidence of his violent intentions or of engagement in extra-national violent plots as alleged by informal spokespersons for [Israel] in offering their rationalization for the assassination to the media and the US government,” Falk told Press TV.

“I believe a reasonable person would conclude that the assassination suggests that Israel is guilty of state-sponsored terrorism, which is a criminal behavior under international law.”

Given its timing, Falk said, the assassination was “intended either to prompt an Iranian act of proportional retaliation or strengthen the insistence of the Iranian negotiators in Vienna that the [Iran deal] cannot be restored without removing the [Islamic] Revolution Guards Corps from the US list of ‘terrorist organizations.’”

He noted that Iran has the right to strongly protest at the UN and call for a thorough international investigation of the assassination.

This is not the first time that a Western scholar accuses the Zionist regime of state terrorism and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been always the target of this type of terrorism through the sold-out enemies’ pawns in the country, mainly MKO terrorist group’s mercenaries, who perform terrorist acts in the country with the support of Israel and Western countries.

The strangest thing is that all international bodies are fully aware of the Zionists’ crimes and terrorist acts but they remain silent and passive and this emboldens them to continue their crimes.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has stepped up its security and defense against terrorist acts during decades of its existence and has minimized and foiled the terrorist acts but sometimes because of some sold-out mercenaries inside the country, Israelis can perform their vicious act but they should wait for due response by Iranian forces.

Iranians hate terrorist and coward acts and they prefer to retaliate in a manly and brave way rather than clandestine killing of the ordinary citizens but we recommend the Western states and international bodies to remain also silent and not to accuse Iran of violating law when Iranians take retaliatory actions against any hostile pro-terrorist country.

The slogan of the Islamic Republic of Iran has changed in recent years and it believes the era of hit-and-run has ended and terrorists cannot escape unpunished and they will receive their due punishment in due time.
