Exports from Shahid Rajaee port, Iran’s largest and best-equipped container port, increased 59 percent in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-April 20), as compared to the same period of time in the past year, according to a provincial official.
Very large container ships with capacities of up to 22,000 20-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containers would be able to dock at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Port on the Persian Gulf coast by March.
An Iranian official said a large consignment of medical supplies, including 20 tons of respiratory masks, is going to be released from the Shahid Rajaee Customs Terminal south of Iran.
Four cargo ships with different consignments arrived at Shahid Rajaei Port in the southern Hormozgan province in the past week, a senior official said.
The Director General of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) Allah Morad Afifipour put the goods forwarded in Shahid Rajaee Port at about five million tons in the first Iranian month of Farvardin (March 21 – April 21).
Above 6.76 million tons of oil products have been exported from the southern Iranian port of Shahid Rajaee during the past Iranian calendar year (ending March 20, 2019), the Director General of Ports and Maritime Department of Hormozgan Province Allah-Morad Afifipour told reporters on Monday.
