On the occasion of the Government Week in the current year (started March 21, 2019), Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian inaugurated a 7-megawatt solar power plant in Abhar, Zanjan province, on Tue.

A 10-megawatt solar power plant in Baft County, central Kerman province, was connected to the national power grid at the weekend.

The capacity of Iran’s renewable power production has reached 724 megawatts and the number is expected to exceed 1,000 MW when the under-construction projects come on stream in the near future, according to the official website of the Energy Ministry.

Renewable power production surpassed billion kilowatt watts per hour (kWh) in a 10-year time span from late June 2009 to late April 2019, Iranian ministry of power announced on Saturday.
