TEHRAN (Iran News) -Religion Has Never Been an Opium. Leftist and rightist thoughts, according to Martyr Master Morteza Motahhari, in a root contradiction have been to compete with Islam as the most guiding school of thought and to ignore its human-related aims.

This dear and lasting Master in the garb of a noble ideologue has a famous sentence that when one ponders about it deeply, he finds the current condition of the world more understandable. He says, “Left and Right are both like two sharp edges of scissors that when they reach each other, are after cutting Islam.” Just a couple of days ago I was reading an article from Master Yadollah Javani that I like to quote it here in my article entirely.

He writes, “If religion used to be presented as the opium to the people and as a factor for human society backwardness before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, but today Islam has clarified all ways of the salvation of humanity from all man-made deadlocks. The era of man-made schools with a materialistic approach has come to its end. Socialism should be studied in the history museums and liberalism is agonizing and it will never revive from its deathbed. The Islamic Revolution with the slogan of “No to the East, No to the West” targeted the socialist and liberalist school of thoughts, and with reviving the genuine Islam of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) it put on display the capacities of political Islam for administering the human societies. The Islamic Republic in action proved that not only Islam is not an opium to the people and the factor for keeping human societies backward, but also it is for the growth and excellence of mankind and his progress either individually or socially. With the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian nation’s 42 years of resistance against all pressures and plots of the satanic and arrogant powers, most of the false allegations against Islam like “the contradiction between science and belief” have turned pale. When the Islamic Republic defines “Islamic Civilization” and paving the ground for “growth and excellence of human” on the earth as its doctrine, this doctrine and all goals inspired by it can have describable attractions for all humans from any ethnic and race. The emergence of Islamic resistance in the strategic West Asia region, Islamic awakening in all Muslim states, attention to spirituality in all countries in the world, the growth of Islamism in Western societies especially in Europe are all signs of charms of political Islam. The main reason behind this charm is its alignment and unison in the main mottos of the Islamic Revolution like justice, liberty, ethics, spirituality, progress, and human dignity, with an intact and healthy nature of humans. Now the Islamic Republic as the flag-bearer of the Islamic Revolution civilization movement has turned into an inspiring country for other nations but one should know that Islam has enough power for paving the path and removing all challenges provided that Islamic experts and intellectuals strive in accordance with Islam and with time requirements and operationalizing Islamic concepts and its sublime values, and rise for a deserved jihad in this regards. Now the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, who has wisely in the past three decades steered the Revolution and the Islamic establishment towards the ideals and steered it to survive the tough passes, has such a demand from the Islamic scientists. Last week and in the meeting with the chairman and members of the Assembly of Experts, the Leader termed the spiritual and valuable concepts of Islam as the software of the structure of the Islamic establishment and called for upgrading this software in accordance with the expansion of Islamic establishment activities and the emergence of new challenges, saying, “One of the important tasks of scholars and intellectuals is to strengthen the school of thought of the Islamic government in order to operationalize the required concepts in the society.”

Regarding the deep concepts that the writer has brought in his article, this notification is timely that why the Islamic Revolution in creating a psychological behavior bed has not provided the ground for the welfare of its citizens, to understand it better, I should mention that in the executive operation in the Islamic Republic we have faced with rightist and liberal governments and during the past 42, it has not been the Islamic Revolution to have set the execution policy, but it has been the choice that set the base for the behavior basics for running the country and if all convergent foundations in choosing had been aligned with the Islamic Revolution, we would have never faced with such a challenge that the Gini coefficient, used in the economy as the standard for representing income inequality, becomes so gravely wide.

Today fortunately the ground for better understanding of executive deviations has been set up and this optimism exists that on the course of screening, we can provide a ground for a choice matching the Revolution material in order that people find a model fully in line with proper and religious concepts and move towards its materialization.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – US President Donald Trump assailed likely opponent Joe Biden as “not competent” to lead the country, speaking as polls over the weekend showed deepening voter disenchantment with his own handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

“He’s shot, he’s mentally shot,“ Trump said about Biden in a wide-ranging interview with “Fox News Sunday.”

He said that if Biden is elected on November 3, he will “destroy this country.”

Facing the multiple challenges of a spreading pandemic, racial unrest, and a struggling economy, Trump made several unfounded or highly speculative accusations against the former vice president, saying Biden would “triple your taxes” and “defund the police.”

He added, “Religion will be gone, “referring to Democratic officials banning large church services to stem the virus spread.

Asked whether he would accept the election result in November, even if he loses, Trump echoed his position of 2016, saying, “I have to see … I’m not going to just say yes.”

The interview, which was taped in advance, came as new polling results showed support for Biden surging as doubts about Trump’s handling of the pandemic grow amid a resurgence in many states.

Interviewer, Chris Wallace told the president that a new Fox opinion poll showed Biden with a substantial lead over Trump not only on his ability to manage the pandemic (with a 17-point edge) and to deal with racial unrest (by 21 points), but even — by a single point — on handling the economy, long a Trump strong point.

And a new Washington Post-ABC News poll has Biden leading Trump among registered voters nationwide by a resounding 15-point margin, 55-to-40 percent.

Trump dismissed such polling as “fake, “saying White House surveys show him winning both nationally and in key swing states.

He repeatedly pummeled Biden, who has kept a relatively low profile amid the restraints imposed by the pandemic.

Trump claimed that the Democrat wanted to “defund the police” — a battle cry of some anti-racist protesters — and insisted that such language was in a Biden policy document, though he was unable to produce it when challenged by Wallace.

As he repeatedly questioned his rival’s mental acuity, Wallace asked him directly if thought Biden was senile.

“I don’t want to say that,“ Trump replied. “I say he’s not competent to be president.”

He questioned whether the Democrat could pass a cognitive ability test that he said he had “aced, “and said the former vice president would fall apart under tough questioning, AFP reported.

“Let Biden sit through an interview like this, he’ll be on the ground crying for Mommy. He’ll say, ‘Mommy, Mommy, please take me home.’”

Trump again defended his handling of the pandemic, claiming that “we are the envy of the world” on testing; and, of his early prediction that the virus would someday disappear, said, “I’ll be right eventually.”

He again opposed any national mandate for mask-wearing, saying, “I want people to have a certain freedom.”

Referring to the racial unrest in the country, and a recent spike in violent crime in some cities, the president blamed “Democrat-run cities, “which he said were “stupidly run.”

Asked about statistics showing American blacks are twice as likely to be shot and killed by police as whites, Trump replied, “Many whites are killed also. You have to say that.”

And he equated those who fly the Confederate flag with those saying that “Black Lives Matter, “adding, “It’s freedom of speech.”

Trump again stated his opposition to renaming US military bases named after Confederate generals — even after the military supported the idea.

“I don’t care what the military says,“ the president said.

“We’re going to name it after the Reverend Al Sharpton?” He asked rhetorically, referring to a prominent African-American civil rights leader.

There was no immediate response to the interview from Biden or his campaign, though the former vice president did tweet that “Banning the Confederate flag from military installations was long overdue.”

On other subjects, Trump said the economy was “doing very well, “even as millions remain jobless, with some states reimposing lockdowns. The stock market, he said, was near record highs.

The seminar, held in Seoul, South Korea, was devoted to the protection of the rights of religious minorities targeted by the majority groups, particularly in the context of anti-human rights situations such as the forced conversion that occurred in Korea. Iran News quotes the report of the seminar told by peaceinitiative.net.

Forced conversion, also known as “Deprogramming”, is a social issue that causes human rights violations by kidnapping and detaining the members of religious groups labeled as “cults” by their opponents in order to compel them to abandon their faith.

More than 80 participants including legal experts, journalists, and civil society representatives reviewed the current situation of forced conversion and discussed solutions to defend the freedom of faith and human rights that have become the norm of the international community.

On 29 November, Center for Studies on New Religions (CESNUR) from Italy and Human Rights Without Frontiers (HRWF) from Belgium hosted a seminar on human rights entitled “Intolerance and Discrimination Against New Religious Movements: An International Problem”.

Massimo Introvigne, Managing Director of CESNUR as well as an Italian sociologist, stressed that forced conversion is conducted through the mainstream by saying, “Korean deprogrammers are specialized pastors from the mainline churches, most of them Presbyterian.”

“The protests that commemorate the victims from forced conversion were mentioned in the 2019 U.S. State Department Report on Religious Freedom, including violations of religious freedom in the year 2018. However, there were new cases of deprogramming even after their death,” he criticized.

Regarding the multi-dimensional strategy to solve such phenomenon, Willy Fautré, Founder and Director of HRWF stated several suggestions; pointing at the responsibility of the leadership of the Presbyterian Church which tolerates, endorses, and maybe encourages such a practice; developing advocacy at the UN and in organs defending freedom of religion or belief; prosecuting those who encourage people to perpetrate an act of abduction and confinement.

In an open letter, signed by 15 international NGOs including CAP-LC and HRWF, to the South Korean President Moon Jae In on July 24th, it said, “South Korea may well be the last democratic country in the world where deprogramming is still tolerated” and asked the President to “investigate in-depth accusations of forcible deprogramming, put a stop to this obnoxious practice, and hold those responsible fully accountable.”

Meanwhile, South Korea was elected to serve the 5th term on the United Nations Human Rights Council on October 17th. South Korea’s mission to the UN said that it plans “to participate in the international efforts to respond to human rights crises around the world.” Participants urged the Korean government to respond to the issue of forced conversion which is still threatening the human rights of its people.
