In his recent speech delivered before a group of Iranian officials, and Muslim ambassadors and luminaries, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, put forth an idea that amounts to a diplomatic initiative.

He implied that the time is ripe for countries of the West Asia region to form a unity that is based on ensuring their sovereignty and fending off foreign meddling and dictates.

Ayatollah Khamenei spoke about the issue of Islamic unity, emphasizing that the unity of Islamic countries in the West Asian and North African regions will prevent theft, coercion, and interference by the U.S. “Today, the U.S. is harming the countries of the region both politically and economically. It is stealing Syria’s oil and protecting and safeguarding the cruel, savage, and bloodthirsty Daesh in its camps so it can bring it back out onto the field on the day of need,” he said, according to a readout by khamenei.ir.

He said, “If we all become united and Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and the Persian Gulf countries adopt a single policy in fundamental and general issues, the oppressive powers cannot and will not dare interfere in our internal affairs and our foreign policies.”

The Leader further clarified, “As we have said many times before, we do not encourage war or military action. We avoid it. So, the invitation to come together and unite is to prevent U.S.’s warmongering, since they start wars and all the wars in the region have foreign causes.”

Ayatollah Khamenei’s calls for unity appear to be directed against the interventions of the U.S. and its regional ally Israel as they are the biggest enemies of unity among the countries of the region. He implied that Washington and Tel Aviv feed on regional division and discord, which pave the way for their aggression.

In recent years, Israel and the U.S., through media propaganda, sought to portray Iran as the leading destabilizing force in the region. The Leader’s initiative, however, indicates that Iran is not only a force for good but is also extending its hand for peace and prosperity in the region.

It also indicates that no other countries are as upset at the resumption of Iran’s relations with Arab countries as Israel and the U.S.

Expatiating on his initiative, the Leader called on the leaders of Muslim countries, thinkers, and luminaries in the region to ponder over Iran’s offer.

The Leader’s mentioning of the three key countries of the region – Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan – as the target countries for the unity initiative is also interesting. The countries in question have all been in the crosshairs of Iran’s de-escalatory efforts, with Saudi Arabia officially restoring ties with Iran and Egypt and Jordan in the process of patching up ties relations with Tehran.

Ayatollah Khamenei has long supported the restoration of Iran’s relations with these countries. When Sultan Haitham of Oman visited Iran recently in a bid to convey a message from the Egyptian leadership regarding the restoration of ties with Iran, the Leader unequivocally said that Iran welcomes such a step.

The idea of advancing unity among the countries of the region, observers say, would bring about enormous benefits for these countries. It will immunize them against foreign meddling. Furthermore, it will obviate the need for normalization with Israel, which the Leader likened to placing a bet on the wrong horse. In general, the Iranian unity initiative could be indicative of a new conciliatory trend in the region aimed at fostering cooperation and prosperity.

Four informed sources told Axios in June that the White House had a covert briefing with think tank experts concerning Joe Biden’s travel to the region, and that the subject of a “road map for normalization” was discussed.

Kurilla arrived in Tel Aviv on July 17 after visiting Jordan and areas in Syria under U.S. control. It was his second journey to the occupied Palestine in two months, and his fifth since becoming CENTCOM commander earlier this year.

He met with Israeli Defense (read: War) Minister Benny Gantz and Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Aviv Kochavi to discuss their shared security concerns.

He concentrated on Israel’s air and missile defense systems, as well as the threat posed by modern unmanned aerial systems and ballistic missiles.

Kurilla emphasized that integrated air and missile defense remained an objective for CENTCOM and its Middle Eastern partners. “This is critical to defending our forces, our partners, and our interests. It is a clear priority, one we discussed during our engagements in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem,” he said.

He also spoke with Israeli missile defense crew members and battalion commanders, which he claims allowed him to view and understand Israeli military and security policy from the ground troops’ perspectives.

“This was not a series of Power Point meetings in an office: we visited IDF facilities and operations centers, spoke with the men and women who make Israel’s defense systems work, and engaged in deep discussions about innovation and technology,” Kurilla said.

“CENTCOM’s commitment to the region is ironclad. … This region is at the center of America’s strategic competition with Russia and China,” he also said.

“By linking together militaries with mutual security concerns, the Abraham Accords may serve a great benefit to regional security,” he added, referring to the accords brokered during the Trump administration that normalized relations between Israel and certain Arab nations.

“The accords allow us to focus on the areas in which our security interests align. In that, there is great promise.”

This occurs despite the fact that many Arab states have rejected the notion. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has said that he was not aware of any discussions between Arab states of the Persian Gulf region with Israel, and that his country was not interested in such discussions.

Similarly, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi stated in June that no conversations on forming an Arab alliance with Israel had taken place.

In his remarks, Jordan’s top diplomat blasted as false accusations by Western and Israeli media outlets about Tel Aviv’s efforts to form a military alliance with various Arab countries against Iran with the assistance of the U.S.

According to another report by Al-Araby-Al-Jadeed, Cairo has assured Tehran that it will not be a part of any military alliance that operates against Iran.

Biden’s goal to establish an alliance against Iran has failed, but if the administration insists on pursuing it, they are welcome to suffer yet another setback in their foreign policy approach.

In the most recent developments about Iran’s efforts to repair ties with regional countries, Iran’s foreign minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, indicated in a live talk show televised late Thursday that Kuwait and the UAE will soon send ambassadors to Tehran.

He stated that the UAE ambassador will travel to Iran soon, and that Kuwait has already selected a new ambassador to Tehran.

The UAE president’s diplomatic adviser, Anwar Gargash, had earlier said Riyadh is considering to send an ambassador to Tehran to mend relations with Iran.

TEHRAN – Commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Brigadier General Esmayeel Qaani lauded the role of Martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in strengthening the Axis of Resistance, and vowed that the U.S. troops will soon leave the region.

Qaani praised the role of General Soleimani in resolving regional crises and strengthening the Resistance Front, stressing that according to the agenda of the Resistance Axis, the end of the US military presence in the region is imminent.

He made the remarks in a closed session of the Iranian Parliament on Wednesday, where he briefed the lawmakers on the details of the last year terror attack on his former boss, Martyr General Soleimani.

He emphasized the necessity of revenge for the blood of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.

Hailing the role of General Soleimani in resolving regional crises and strengthening the Axis of Resistance, Qaani said that the bones of the enemy are being crushed due to such strengthened resistance.

Referring to the remarks of IRGC Quds Force Commander Brigadier General Qaani in the closed session of Iran’s Parliament on Wednesday, parliament member Ebrahim Rezaee said, “In the first place General Qaani stressed that the U.S. must leave Iraq and the region.”

Qaani, who served as Martyr Soleimani’s deputy for more than a decade, replaced him after his assassination.

He did not go into details of his meeting with lawmakers but it was expected the meeting to be on the latest developments in Iraq and in the region.

In relevant remarks on Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker’s Special Aide for International Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian underlined once again that the country will certainly take a harsh revenge from the masterminds and perpetrators of the terror attack on the former IRGC Quds Force Commander, Lieutenant General Soleimani.

An unproved charge, that the West Asian countries have paid its price for it, is attributed to September 11, 2001 event.

In fact, if Al-Qaeda was behind this scenario, Saudi Arabia’s rulers should have paid its price so that not only they did not pay, but also they paved the ground for presence of the U.S. Army in the region.

It was an incident where the U.S. guile is seen, and most individuals and international communities have casted doubt on it as the U.S. claims that the extremist group Al-Qaeda with financial support of Saudis has masterminded the attack and they are trying to cover up the role of Saudi government in order to milk more this milk cow. So the plot was carried out in the morning of September 11, 2001 when 19 Al-Qaeda forces hijacked four American passenger planes.

The first plane crashed the northern part of the World Trade Center building at 08:45 a.m. and then the second plane hit the southern side of the building at 09:03 a.m. Immediately after the second plane crashed the building, the U.S. government ordered the closure of New York airports and imposed curfew in the tunnels and bridges of the city.

The then U.S. President George Bush who was in Florida officially announced that the U.S. was attacked and flew to one of the U.S. military centers. One of the hijacked planes hit the Pentagon in Washington D.C. at 09:43. This attack caused the government to order immediate evacuation of the White House.

The southern building collapsed at 10:05 almost one hour after the being hit by the plane. At 10:10 the west side of the Pentagon collapsed. At the same time the fourth plane crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

This attack made the government officials order evacuation of the United Nations, Department of State and Department of Justice buildings and later the World Bank building. The northern building of the Twin Towers collapsed at 10:28. After this collapse, all government federal buildings were closed and evacuated in Washington. Israel also closed down its diplomatic centers worldwide. All government center in New York were closed and the then New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani who is mistress of the MKO group (Iranian terrorist Group) urged citizens not to leave their residences.

International airports of Los Angeles and San Francisco were almost completely evacuated and closed. At 13:04, U.S. President Bush while he was at the Barksdale Air Force Base announced that the U.S. forces were on full alert in all over the world, emphasizing that elements behind this crime will be harshly punished.

At 13:44 the Pentagon announced that five warships and two aircraft carriers were in charge of protecting the security of eastern coasts of the U.S. It also ordered the ban on commercial flights all over the U.S. until Wednesday.

The fire resulted from the attack swept the Building No. 7 of the World Trade Center at 16:10. The New York stock market, The Wall Street, was forced to shut down. At 16:30, U.S. President Bush flew from Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska to Washington. The building No. 7 of the 47-story World Trade Center tower collapsed at 17:20. President Bush and his wife under tight security returned to the White House at 18:54. The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center collapsed completely in two hours. At 16:00, CNN TV channel reported that the U.S. officials would probably blame the Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden for this terrorist attack.

Al-Qaeda was and is still a group which was formed by Bin Laden during the Soviet Union troops’ withdrawal from Afghanistan in order to conquer Afghanistan as their ruling realm. Al-Qaeda in 1988 and in a fatwa (religious order) announced that it is the duty of any Muslim to kill Americans in any part of the world. Bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Ahmed Rafia Taha, Mir Hamza and Fazl al-Rahman seemed to be the leaders of Al-Qaeda at that time.

According to the claims of the Americans, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, a senior member of Al-Qaeda, was one of the masterminds of the 9/11 terrorist attack.

Iran’s former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad several times during his speeches at the UN General Assembly attributed the 9/11 attack to the U.S, and called for forming a fact-finding committee. He also in his speech said: “9/11 is actually a pre-planned game for inciting the human community sentiments and for finding a pretext to attack at the Islamic region and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, and it has led to killing of one million innocent people in these regions.”

Among the different assumptions and analyses on the 9/11 event, activists in analyzing the role of Freemasonry’s role in today’s world have some views. They believe that 9/11 event had been planned years before being taken place. To prove their views, they point to the existing ambiguities in reporting the accident that the Twin Towers disaster and deaths of thousands of people was not actually carried out by Bin Laden’s men but it was done by the U.S., Freemasonries and Jews.

To proof this claim, they say it is enough only to fold a one-dollar note to see the picture of Twin Towers after being hit by Boeing planes.

He went on to say that despite the fact that the Palestinians are under severe pressure from different directions, the UAE is cooperating with the Israelis and the Americans, including that Jewish person who is present in the Trump family, against the interests of the Islamic world and deal with absolute cruelty with the Islamic world.

“The nation of Palestine is under various, severe pressures. Then, the UAE cooperates with the Israelis and the filthy U.S. agents – such as the Zionist in Trump’s family – against the interests of the world of Islam and commits the greatest atrocity against it,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

He hoped that the Emiratis will wake up soon and repent from what they have done.

Referring to the 2030 educational document, he said that the document is for spreading the Western lifestyle, which has already been done in some regional countries.

The Leader added that the social philosophy of the west has failed, which is clearly seen in the corruption of the Hollywood and the Pentagon.

Ayatollah Khamanei said that the enemy wants to do through 2030 document what they cannot do through military action; they want to raise humans like themselves to try for their goals so they can plunder wealth of the other nations.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Iran Daily, Sara Fallahi, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, stressed that the Islamic Republic should form new cooperation councils with its neighbors.

When established on a regional level, she added, such councils can back their members in international organizations and help them secure a larger number of votes.

The MP said Iran is currently a member of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), regretting that the organization, however, is yet to play an active role in the process of achieving its goals.

“We have failed to define and promote our common interests correctly within the framework of such collaborations.”

The ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization, encompassing countries from Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia, Middle East and South Asia with more than 460 million inhabitants, according to eco.int.

Covering an area of over eight million square kilometers, it connects Russia to the Persian Gulf and China to Europe. The overall objective of the organization is the sustainable economic development of its member states and the region as a whole.

Established as Regional Cooperation for Development (RCD) in 1964 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey, the organization was rechristened as ECO in 1985.

In 1992 and in the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union, Afghanistan and six former Soviet republics, namely, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan joined the organization, forming one of the biggest regional blocs in Asia and beyond with 10 members.

Fallahi said, “Our weakness in defining common interests among neighbors and promoting regional cooperation has caused major powers, including the US, to be able to extend their influence over the region and implement their policies through sowing discord among its states.”

She underlined that Iran is not the only country in the region that should strengthen its neighborly diplomacy, calling on all regional states to come to a mutual understanding in this regard and prioritize regional interests in their foreign policies.

“Under the present circumstances where Iran has beentargeted by the hostile polices of the enemies wielding influence over important international organizations, some of our neighbors are working against us taking sides with our enemies. We are required to assume command over the operations and persuade the neighbors to define their common interests and increase their political and economic interactions and exchanges with each other.”

Emphasizing the importance of greater unity between the Iranian Parliament and government, she called on the two branches of government to adopt a unified strategy in different fields.

Urging greater solidarity among the country’s political elites, the MP also warned that any discord in the country will politically feed the enemies’ propaganda against Iran.

At a time when the enemies seek to form a global consensus against Iran, discord among domestic sectors can be the best news for them, she added.

Fallahi said the Iranian Foreign Ministry plays a very significant role in foiling the enemies’ plots, adding Tehran’s more active role in the field of foreign policy and increased interaction with the world will prevent the enemies from deceiving the international community into believing the lie that Iran is a security threat.

She noted that domestic media play a very significant role in this field, saying, “We should be transparent in a way to be able to convince the international community and emerge victorious from the enemies’ political and media games.”

Commenting on the political and economic challenges faced currently by the US, Fallahi said with only a few months to the end of US President Donald Trump’s term in office, the situation is not unfolding in his favor.

“The ground is not prepared for his victory in the next presidential election.”

Americans are not in a good economic condition, incapable of envisaging a bright future for the country, the MP noted, saying in addition, Europe is not counting on US investments to the extent it used to when the country was in its heydays.

She described as tumultuous the situation inside the US in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd, an African American man, by US police in May.

The tragic incident has led to massive protests, first started in Minneapolis in the US in late May, across the world. The rallies in the US have been against the Trump administration’s racist policies and the police’s inhumane behavior.

Fallahi added this comes as, the policies Trump claimed to be willing to adoptat the beginning of his tenure, implied that he seeks to shift focus from expanding military presence in remote areas to boosting domestic economy to overcome the economic challenges faced by the US.

She said the US, however, has failed to solve its economic challenges.

The lawmaker noted that the US has placed Iran under pressure to change the Islamic Republic’s political behavior and to this end, reimposed, and then intensified, its strict sanctions on the country.

In May 2018, Trump pulled the US out of the Joint ‎Comprehensive Plan of Action, signed between Iran and the P5+1 in July ‎‎2015, and reimposed Washington’s unilateral sanctions on Tehran as part of the White House’s “maximum pressure” campaign against the Islamic Republic.

This comes as with the next US presidential election due to be held in November, Washington’s “maximum pressure” campaign and unilateral sanctions against Tehran have failed to produce the Trump administration’s desired results, namely changing Iran’s political behavior and signing a new nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic.
