According to the NIDC’s Director of Renovation and Upgrading Shahram Shamipour, the renovation and upgrading operations are aimed at improving the performance of these rigs which are active in the country’s oil and gas field development projects, Shana reported.

Shamipour noted that the equipment going through renovation operations include fluid pumps, draw-works machinery, charting tools, pumps for cementing and acidizing trucks, tow trucks, cranes, piping machines, generators, hydrogen sulfide gas treatment systems, acid-coated storage tanks, and cement transport bunkers.

In this due, the company is going to sign deals with domestic companies for the renovation of more than 220 pieces of equipment related to drilling rigs, technical services, transportation, special services, tools in circulation, and safety, health, and environment, according to Shamipour.

The official noted that of the allocated figure, so far, 1.3 trillion rials (about $30.95 million) has been spent which has led to the signing of eight deals with domestic companies.

Considering the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC)’s new strategies for strengthening the presence of domestic companies in the development of the country’s oil fields, NIDC, as a major subsidiary of the company, has been supporting such companies by lending them drilling rigs and other necessary equipment.

According to Babak Zanganeh, director of consolidated planning at NIDC, the company dug and completed the digging operation of 17 oil and gas wells during the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21– May 21), an official with the company said.

NIDC owns 70 light, heavy and super-heavy drilling rigs, including 67 onshore drilling rigs and three offshore rigs, Zanganeh said.

“Currently, 25 drilling rigs of the company are being relocated in the onshore operational areas of the country”, he added.

NIDC managed to carry out 10,182 meters of horizontal and directional drilling in 43 oil and gas wells across the country during the previous Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20), according to the Head of NIDC’s Special Operations Department Ali Daqayeqi.

Some 654 meters of core extraction drilling was also conducted in the mentioned period which was a huge achievement for assessing the condition of the country’s oil and gas reserves.

Back in February, NIDC Managing Director Abdollah Mousavi had announced that his company dug and completed the digging operation of 117 oil and gas wells during the first nine months of the previous Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2020 – January 19, 2021).

Mousavi said the drilled wells consisted of 27 development wells, one appraisal well, 85 workover wells, and four exploratory wells.

After the U.S. reimposition of sanctions against Iran, indigenizing the know-how for the manufacturing of the parts and equipment applied in different industrial sectors is one of the major strategies that the Islamic Republic has been strongly following up to reach self-reliance and nullify the sanctions.

Oil, gas, and petrochemical industries have outstanding performances in this due, with indigenizing the knowledge for manufacturing many parts and equipment that were previously imported.

Among different sectors of the mentioned industries, drilling could be mentioned as a prominent example in this regard.

National Iranian Drilling Company managed to indigenize the knowledge for manufacturing 6,000 drilling equipment in collaboration with domestic manufacturers and engineers in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended on March 19).

TEHRAN (Shana) — The Petropars Group and the National Iranian Drilling Company have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in implementation of oil and gas projects.

According To Iran News, the MOU was signed by Hamid Reza Masoudi, CEO of Petropars Group, and Seyed Abdullah Mousavi, CEO of the NIDC.

Accordingly, the two sides stressed the need to provide conditions for cooperation in the implementation of future petroleum projects.

Having implemented various projects in the field of oil, gas and petrochemicals, Petropars, an Iranian exploration and production company, has a massive capacity to use the services of Iranian contractors in order to strengthen domestic companies.

The National Iranian Drilling Company, on the other hand, while enjoying 75 land and offshore drilling rigs, has the largest fleet of drilling machinery and equipment that can provide the drilling services required for Iranian oil companies.

TEHRAN – National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) and Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Company (PECO) signed an agreement worth $60m to cooperate on the developmental project of Sepehr and Jufair oil fields in west of Karoun in Khouzestan Province.

According to reports, in a ceremony held on Sunday, the CEO of National Iranian Drilling Company Mr. Seyed Abdollah Mousavi, the CEO of Pasargad Energy Development Company (PEDC) Eng. Mehdi Mirmoezi and the CEO of Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Company Mr Abbas Qobadi signed the deal. PECO is an affiliated company of PEDC.

The agreement has been drawn up based on the Iranian petroleum contract (IPC) and is considered as the first contract for developing hydrocarbon reservoirs which is signed in the year of surge in production between Iranian companies. According to the contract, NIDC will both drill developmental wells mentioned in the contract and offer the defined integrated auxiliary services in the project.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Mousavi pointed to the capacities and capabilities of the company as the biggest specialized parent drilling company in Iran’s oil industry, adding that NIDC has had focal role in drilling of exploration wells in different fields in the country like Sepehr and Jufair and it has enough reservoir information and experience in such fields.

He noted that the company has chosen two of its heaviest and modern  drilling machines Fath 93 and Fath 94 for commencing the operation and it will use necessary equipment and experienced experts in the operational, technical and engineering services sectors in order to have a favorable cooperation and interaction with Pezhvak Energy Company based on the fixed schedule.

He said the company is in talks with Pasargad Energy Development Company to cooperate in drilling and completing 10 more wells in those fields, too.

Mousavi added that the company simultaneously will continue its cooperation with its other government and private partners in the project named “development of 28 reservoirs” and it will employ 15 drilling machines and considerable part of its potentials in offering technical and engineering services.

Later, addressing the ceremony, the CEO of PEDC Mr. Mirmoezi hailed NIDC as the biggest drilling company in the country, adding that NIDC has enough capacities for involving in field-based projects both in the country or abroad, expressing that it is expected over 100 wells to be drilled in the developmental project in Sepehr and Jufair fields. He reiterated cooperation between NIDC with private companies will pave the ground for progress and development.

Meanwhile the CEO of PECO Eng. Qobadi, for his part, highlighted activities of the company and its activities regarding the oil and gas projects.

TEHRAN – Head of Board of Directors and CEO of National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) on Monday and during his meeting with the company’s managers highlighted major performance and achievements of the company in the last Iranian calendar year which ended on March 19.

Eng. Seyed Abdollah Mousavi said despite two major disaster and incident of flood and the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country last year, the company did not lag behind in fulfilling its own innate duties while doing their social responsibilities.

He added that NIDC usually acts in alignment with the Oil Industry programs but the company experienced new and different responsibilities last year which totally differed with previous ones.

Mousavi added that in the early days of last year, heavy rains caused floods in the country and in wake of it, NIDC became as one of the main members of the Disaster Management Headquarters of Khouzestan Province and rushed to the help and rescue of the flood-hit regions and people in the province.

He added that floods created problems for the company in its drilling operations and after floods were contained, all rigs near the rivers once again were returned to the network because of endeavors of NIDC staff.

Mousavi reiterated floods could not stop the company pursuing its other activities and it continued its programs in logistics, drilling and HSE fields as the schedule.

On drilling wells, he said endeavors of personnel in the company led to drilling and completing of 114 wells which were carried out successfully and they came on stream.

He added that out of 116 wells, three were exploratory, 39 were developmental-descriptive and 72 maintenance wells, stating that 81 wells were drilled for National Iranian South Oil Company, 16 for Iranian Offshore Oil Company, four for Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, three for Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, seven wells in form of a project and three wells NIOC Exploration Directorate.

Mousavi reiterated that the company drilled 163981 meters of well last year, adding that some 22,808 meters were drilled in the turnkey projects and carried out 24,404 meters more horizontal and directional drilling.

He noted that 28 drilling machines for drilling the aforementioned wells as well as two rigs for maintenance wells were used.

He also pointed to the integrated technical and engineering services and cooperation with the knowledge-based companies as the major achievements and performance of the company last year.

Mousavi said the company has cooperated with 200 domestic part-manufacturing companies and held some specialized and training courses for its staff.

He added that NIDC is of the upstream companies of National Iranian Oil Company which plays key role in the chain of oil and gas production according to its organizational task.

Mousavi added that NIDC has about 15,000 experts and skillful personnel and it owns 72 drilling machines and modern equipment for integrated services for 20 certain expertise.

He noted that currently 96 percent of drilling operation of oil and gas wells and 60 percent of ancillary services in the country are carried out by the company.

He then pointed to four decades of activities of the company in the drilling industry in Iran, noting that in recent years over 40 companies have joined the drilling industry and most of their experts have been once staff of the NIDC.

Mousavi also pointed to the performance of the company in the past year, adding that the company has accomplished drilling operation of 124 oil and gas wells.

He added that over 170,000 meters of drilling of wells have been carried out in the same period.

He then pointed to the cooperation of NIDC with research centers and knowledge-based companies, adding that this cooperation will continue this year with more determination.

Mousavi also said that the company is also active in social, cultural and sport fields and it has been active in its social responsibilities.
