Iran and the Philippines will hold a virtual scientific symposium on agricultural nanotechnology on November 18-19.

A total of 783 nanoproducts and equipment have been developed in the country and received nanoscale certificates over the first six months of the current [Iranian calendar] year (March 21-September 21), according to the Nanotechnology Initiative Council.

Over the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21), 294 knowledge-based companies in the country have developed 772 nanoproducts and have received nanotechnology certificates, according to the Nanotechnology Innovation Council.

Secretary of Nanotechnology Development Headquarters said that joint-venture investment with other countries will lead to more export of nanotechnology products.

An Iranian knowledge-based company has used nanotechnology to develop a special coating that prevents the growth of marine organisms, such as moss, on the outer layer of the hull of ships.
