President Urges Muslims to Stand Against Injustice

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking at the International Conference on “Resistance Diplomacy and Commemoration of Martyrs of Service,” Pezeshkian paid tribute to those who lost their lives in service to justice and the people. He described the late President Ebrahim Raisi as a tireless manager who was deeply committed to public service and social equity.

“Martyr Raisi was a tireless leader,” Pezeshkian said. “The Supreme Leader, government officials, and administrators of our country live among the people and strive to uphold justice and defend the oppressed.”

Quoting the will of Imam Ali (AS), Pezeshkian underscored the importance of piety and righteous deeds, stating that these values apply broadly across political, educational, economic, and administrative spheres. “Imam Ali advised not to chase worldly desires even if they pursue you, and to never regret the loss of material possessions, as it is the pursuit of worldly gain that distances people from truth,” he added.

Pezeshkian criticized materialism and highlighted the danger it poses to truth and justice. “When we are not obsessed with worldly gains, we can truly stand with the oppressed and oppose the oppressors,” he said.

He rejected claims that Islamic Republic officials are materialistic, citing personal experiences visiting the modest homes of late President Raisi’s mother in Mashhad and the late Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. “When I visited Raisi’s family home, it was even more humble than an average household,” he said. “The Omani Foreign Minister could not believe Amir-Abdollahian lived in such a simple house. These homes are beyond the imagination of those used to power and wealth.”

Pezeshkian emphasized that the country’s top officials, including the Supreme Leader, live modest lives. “If the claims made by American officials were true, we wouldn’t see such humility. What they accuse us of is a reflection of their own actions,” he noted. “In Iran, the honesty and simplicity of our leaders are evident.”

He said the simplicity of Iranian officials surprises foreign visitors and carries more influence than any propaganda. “When they see the lives of our president, ministers, governors, and clerics, they are astonished,” he said. “This has a deeper impact than words.”

The president reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s stance in support of Palestine and Gaza. “Our position is clear against those who wear fine clothes and preach human rights while committing the most brutal acts,” he declared. “There is no barbarity worse than the indiscriminate killing of innocent women and children.”

He stressed that Muslims have a religious and moral obligation to confront injustice anywhere in the world. “If we remain silent in the face of oppression, we must question not only our faith but our humanity,” he said.

Pezeshkian said that achieving justice and serving the people remain the primary goals of Iran’s leadership. “When justice prevails, there is no reason for conflict or aggression,” he said. “Injustice arises from greed and the desire to seize what belongs to others.””Muslims ”

He highlighted the need to govern based on justice for all people—not just one group, ethnicity, or party. “If we follow our base desires—‘my wealth, my position, my tribe’—we stray from the path of righteousness,” he said. “We must pursue truth, not personal gain.””Muslims ”

The president once again honored the legacy of the late Raisi, describing him as a selfless public servant. “He worked with love and dedication to serve the people and implement his beliefs,” Pezeshkian said. “The memory of Raisi and all nameless martyrs who gave their lives for justice must live on in our society.”

In closing, Pezeshkian prayed that the Iranian people and leaders remain true to the path of justice and not be led astray by selfish desires. “We must always remember that we will be held accountable for our actions,” he warned.

Quoting Imam Khomeini, he concluded, “Conflicts arise from ego and selfishness. True service to the people leaves no room for dispute. The path to serve others is open across Iran, the Middle East, and the world—if only one rolls up their sleeves and takes action.”

During the conference, President Pezeshkian also honored the families of the victims of the tragic May plane crash that claimed the lives of President Raisi and several top officials.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Israeli officials should face legal action for the crimes committed by the regime against the besieged Gaza Strip, according to a meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The gathering also issued a warning that the current state of affairs might lead to a “unprecedented explosion” in the region.

The request was made via the final communiqué of the 5th emergency meeting of the permanent Palestine committee of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday.

The meeting was merged with the first meeting of the Palestine Committee of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.

The communiqué declared Israel must be placed on trial for its war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide against people in Gaza.

“We want the international community to fully take up its responsibility to condemn these measures and try to put an immediate end to the aggression,” it said.

In addition to praising South Africa for bringing an International Court of Justice complaint against Israel, the statement asked PUIC members to assist South Africa in prosecuting Israeli offenders.

According to the statement, the world must act to put an immediate halt to Israel’s onslaught, warning that Muslim nations cannot stay passive while Israel continues to massacre Palestinians, and that the situation risks producing an eruption of wrath and a regional confrontation.

It also said that PUIC members support the Palestinian people’s struggle against Israel in all forms, as all occupied countries have the right to self-defense in the face of aggression.

The statement denounced Israel’s intention to forcefully relocate Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and demanded the return of all Palestinians to their country.

Additionally, the communiqué also denounced U.S. backing for Israel’s offensive, noting that Washington has given the regime access to a variety of cutting-edge weaponry and munitions.

It further stated that the U.S. sought to whitewash Israel’s misdeeds in the international arena by using its veto power to prevent the UN from acting against the apartheid regime.

The statement also urged member nations to provide financial and political assistance to Palestinians, as well as seek to provide additional supplies to the beleaguered strip and assist Palestinians in rebuilding their homes devastated by Israel’s war machine.

Representatives from 26 Islamic and Asian nations, including Bahrain, Turkey, Algeria, Oman, and China, attended the PUIC summit in Tehran. The PUIC was set up in Iran in 1999, with its headquarters in Tehran.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stated at the meeting on Wednesday that the Israeli regime was built on aggression and genocide, and that it must continue to do such horrible crimes in order to survive.

“What is coming to pass in the Gaza Strip today is a cause of deep concern and shame for humanity. It is double injustice to a nation that has been deprived of all human rights and has been under aggression and occupation for more than seven decades,” Qalibaf said.

He continued by saying that “no awakened conscience can be dismissive of the heinous and widespread bloody crimes being committed by the Israeli Zionist regime’s war machine in Gaza and its horrendous effects on the peace and security of the region and the world.”

A representative from the Palestinian parliament underscored the imperative for Islamic nations to stand in support of Palestine, vehemently denouncing bilateral ties with the Zionist regime as a tacit approval of ongoing atrocities.

President of the Algerian Parliament Ebrahim Boughali also urged advocates for the freedom of Palestine and global leaders to take necessary actions for the trial of the Zionist regime in international courts.

“All tools should be used to prosecute Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people in international courts,” said Qassem Hashem, the representative from the Lebanese Parliament.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Muslims in the world may have differences but they all are united and unanimous in their basic principles which are the Holy Quran and their Prophet and they can’t tolerate any insult to their basic principles and this is the reason some enemies of Islam use this tool of insult to Muslims’ beliefs and principles.

In recent decades the number of sacrileges has been on the rise mostly they have come from Europe, the so-called land of freedom of expression, but we cannot understand why freedom of expression is just for insulting Islam and nobody insults other religions. We see insulting Islam as freedom of expression but when somebody wants to question Holocaust or other issues immediately he comes under any kind of fire and even go to prison.

In recent years, Europe has turned into a haven for those who want to insult Islam and create Islamophobia, and countries like Sweden and Denmark have turned into the centers for insulting Muslims and each time, the insult has faced with a serious revolt from Muslims in the world as Muslims have shown the insulters that the Holy Quran and their Prophet are their red lines and they will not tolerate any blasphemy and insult against their sanctities.

Now Sweden which has turned into haven for terrorists and opposition groups as well as enemies of Islam is challenging with a blasphemy. Muslims worldwide have poured into streets especially gathered in front of Sweden Embassies to express their anger.

This time the condition is in a way that even the European Union has strongly denounced the recent Quran burning outside a mosque in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, calling it “a clear act of provocation.”

In a statement on Saturday, the EU said this “offensive, disrespectful” act does not reflect the opinions of the bloc, stressing that “manifestations of racism, xenophobia, and related intolerance” have no place in Europe.

It went on to say that the EU continues to uphold freedom of religion or belief and freedom of expression, both within its member states and internationally.

The statement further emphasized that “now is the time to stand together for mutual understanding and respect and to prevent any further escalation.”

It also noted that the incident was deemed even more offensive as it took place at the time when Muslims were celebrating Eid Al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.

The EU also condemned the storming of the Swedish embassy in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the statement said.

Of course Europeans should not expect Muslims to seat silent and passive against insulting their beliefs and principles and they should find some solution to decrease the number of sacrileges and not fanning the flame of anti-Islam actions, and supporting insult under the banner of freedom of expression is not acceptable.

On Wednesday, a 37-year-old Iraqi man stomped on the Quran before setting several pages alight in front of Stockholm’s largest mosque. The insult to the Muslim holy book was made under the authorization and protection of the Swedish police.

The incident, coinciding with the start of the Muslim Eid al-Adha and the end of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, drew the anger of Muslims from across the world.

People in other Muslim countries also took to the streets in protest against the move.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has convened an emergency meeting of its executive committee to address the consequences of the sacrilegious act.

Sweden has repeatedly permitted Quran burning in recent years. In January, a Swedish-Danish right-wing extremist burned a copy of the Quran near the Turkish embassy in Stockholm.

We have not still forgotten that Turkey has set condition for Sweden’s joining the NATO bloc and it has called for extradition of terrorist group members and we know that many anti-Islamic Revolution groups’ members are in Sweden and as long as this country follows this policy of being haven for terrorist and anti-Islam people, we cannot expect the number of insult to Islam to decrease.

People in Muslim countries have also taken to the streets in protest against the move, including Iran, where people held a demonstration outside Sweden’s embassy in Tehran on Friday. But we expect all Muslim governments react strongly regarding this insult rather than letting their people do it.

Iran, Iraq, the UAE, Kuwait and a number of other countries have voiced diplomatic protest against the Swedish government’s authorization of the Quran desecration.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on Friday distanced himself from the blasphemy. “This is a serious security question. There’s no need to insult other people,” the right-wing premier said.

The perpetrator of the insult told a Swedish newspaper late Thursday that he intended to repeat his protest in July. “Within 10 days I will burn the Iraqi flag and the Koran in front of Iraq’s embassy in Stockholm,” he told Expressen.

Despite his distancing, we know that Sweden has repeatedly permitted Quran burnings in recent years. In January, a Swedish-Danish right-wing extremist burned a copy of the Quran near the Turkish embassy in Stockholm.

So we recommend European countries to stop provoking Muslims’ sentiment and not to play with the fire of wrath of Muslims because Muslims tolerate everything but insult to their Holy Quran and Prophet, and we also recommend Europe to stop playing with the phrase of “Freedom of Expression” which is only used for their own purposes and ignoring the rights of Muslims and disrespecting them.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –In recent days, Muslims worldwide once again have shown the power of Islam and belief in Islamic values as they are gradually and strongly showing strong reaction against desecration to the Holy Quran and Islam, and this is what Muslims in the world need and this will not let the offenders continue their atrocities and insults against Islam and Muslims in the future because of possible reactions and protests.

People held monumental rallies across several Muslim countries throughout the world, condemning instances of desecration of the Holy Qur’an in Europe. In Bangladesh’s capital of Dhaka, Muslims gathered outside a mosque after Friday prayers to voice outrage over acts of blasphemy targeting the Muslim holy book by extremist European figures, AFP reported.

The rally came after a notorious Swedish-Danish extremist, Rasmus Paludan, received permission from Sweden’s government to burn the holy book in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm less than a week ago. Paludan was being protected by the Swedish police while committing the sacrilege.

The incident was followed by Edwin Wagensveld, who heads the Dutch chapter of the German anti-Islam group Pegida’s tearing pages out of the divine book during a one-man protest at The Hague.

Also on Friday, Iranians rallied across the country, including in the capital Tehran, to condemn the acts of blasphemy. They denounced the heinous incidents as acts of incitement and a serious provocation of the feelings of more than two billion Muslims worldwide, calling on European authorities to put an end to hostility towards Islam.

In Afghanistan too, angry Muslims marched in the capital Kabul and other major cities across the country, voicing outrage over the anti-Islam acts.

Bahrain bore witness to similar protests, with protesters marching in the capital Manama despite heightened security measures.

Senior figures have also vehemently condemned the acts of profanity throughout the world’s Muslim countries, including Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.

Like other parts of the Muslim world, tempers are running high in Pakistan over the repeated Islamophobic incidents by some European countries in recent days. Outraged Pakistanis took to the streets of the capital Islamabad after Friday prayers to condemn the west for what they call its “malicious anti-Islamic Agenda”.

Protesters chanted slogans and vented their anger against the silence of the west regarding repeated incidents of desecration of the holy Quran and the prophet Mohammad. Demonstrators also called on Muslim nations to boycott European goods over what they describe as the west’s insolent behavior

Demonstrators are demanding that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, known as OIC, raise its voice against the growing intolerance against Islam and anti-Muslim acts across the globe.

The countrywide rallies came days after Pakistan denounced what it described as “the abhorrent act of desecration” of the Quran in Sweden and the Netherlands, saying such acts disrespect Muslims across the globe.

Condemnations continued to pour in from Muslim countries across the world. Yemen, Qatar along with other Islamic nations joined Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey to denounce the desecration.

Meanwhile tens of thousands of Iranians took to the streets in the Iranian capital Tehran and other cities to protest against the desecration of the Holy Quran in Europe.

Following the Friday prayers, worshipers gathered across Iran, marched in rallies, and chanted slogans, condemning the insult to the divine book.

The protesters expressed their anger towards the insult which European governments justify under the cloak of the freedom of speech but do not brook any questioning of the Holocaust, for example.

They said the heinous incident is an act of incitement and a serious provocation to the feelings of more than two billion Muslims worldwide. They called on European authorities to put an end to hostilities toward Islam.

On Monday, a Dutch politician tore apart a copy of the Holy Quran in the city of The Hague. It followed an incident in Sweden where a politician burned a copy of the Qur’an outside the Turkish embassy.

The politician committed the scandalous act after receiving permission from Swedish authorities who provided police guards to ensure nobody prevented it.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the sacrilegious act shows that the arrogant powers’ attacks are aimed at Islam itself.

Referring to the recent insults, Tehran Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Kazem Seddiqi said they show the Western world is afraid of Islam and the Islamic Revolution.

“They are doing these things contrary to their own slogans that call for freedom,” he said.

Unfortunately despite these protest rallies, deafening silence of the so-called rights advocates on desecration of the Holy Qur’an by a notorious Swedish extremist is something funny as the sacrilegious move is a clear example of hate-mongering against Muslims.

The deafening silence of the so-called champions of human rights vis-à-vis the desecration of the Holy Quran is a blatant illustration of incitement to hatred and the proliferation of violence against Muslims, this is what most officials have reiterated and such behaviors have nothing to do with the right to freedom of opinion.

In recent decades the Westerners and especially the Zionists have tried to insult and belittle Muslims in different ways and desecration is one way that they have resorted to it but each time Muslims have turned the table on the offenders and this time once again Muslims proved that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his Household as well as the Holy Quran are their redlines and they will not accept any insult to their redlines and will show their anger.

Unfortunately some Western countries under the banner of freedom of expression promote and defend such insults but Muslims give no damn to what those countries and nations want because for them, insult is not freedom of expression as Muslims never insult other Divine religions because they have learned to respect Divine religions and their practitioners.

So the recent rise of Muslims against insult to the Holy Quran will be a good lesson to offenders to stop their insulting acts or pay their consequences like what Indian-born British author Salman Rushdie did and saw the consequence of its offence.

The current rise of Muslims against insult to the Holy Quran shows that Muslims may live in different areas and lands but they are united on their basic Islamic principles and will not let them be insulted by anyone under any reason and pretext. So insult against Islam, its sanctities and Holy Quran desecration are not allowed and offenders will get strong response by Muslims.

IRAN NEWS POLITICAL DESK

TEHRAN – Majlis Speaker says a handful of Islamic heads of state have set the precedent of sowing discord in the Muslim world by turning their back on the principle of unity among Muslims.

Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf said currently some entities in the Muslims world are targeting Muslims’ unity.

He added the issue of Palestine remains the number-one issue of the Islamic world.

“Support for the cause of Palestine and holy Quds will bring Muslims together worldwide,” he said in a recorded message broadcast as a webinar at the 34th International Conference on Islamic Unity held in Malaysia.

In part of the message, he lashed out at the countries which have normalized their ties with the Israeli regime.

“The rulers of these countries should know that normalization of relations with the Zionist regime [of Israel] will not last long and will go down in history as a disgraceful blot in their name,” he said.

Qalibaf said that certain Arab countries’ normalization of relations with the Zionist regime will not last long and that its disgrace will stay with them in the history.

“The issue of Palestine is still the first priority of Islam; however, the rulers of a few Muslim countries have turned their backs toward Islam and have started to normalize relations with the ‘fake and terrorist’ Zionist regime,” Qalibaf said.

Saying that the Islamic Unity Week is a symbol of solidarity and fraternity, he said that commitment to the Sunnah and the Holy Quran has always been the biggest reason of Islamic unity throughout history.

Any form of impertinence to Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] and the Holy Quran is actually insult to all the prophets, and anyone who does that lacks the minimum understanding of religion, ethics, spirituality, and humanity, he said.

Qalibaf said the commonalities of the Islamic Umma are so many that there can be no excuses for dispute and disunity.

As Takfiris lied and created clash in the region, there are some certain people in both Shias and Sunnis that are focusing on disagreements to create a rift among Muslims, both of which should be condemned, he said, adding that if hands of disputes are off from the Islamic World, the more than 1.5 billion Muslims will have no problem with each other and will support one another as well.

Qalibaf said that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei considers unity as an eternal strategy and not a short-term tactic.

He also urged the Muslim nations to support each other in the time of coronavirus epidemic.

The parliament speaker underlined that unity in the main and principal current of Islam does not contradict differences of opinion.

According To Iran News, judiciary chief has condemned the insult of the French leaders to the Prophet of Islam, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), stressing that this insult is not only hated and condemned by all Muslims but also hated by all intellectuals in the world.

Seyed Ebrahim Raisi said on Monday that insulting the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) in France is insulting the beliefs of all Abrahamic religions.
Raisi added: “When someone does something wrong that is pursued and dealt with by the government, it is very different from acting against all the Abrahamic religions, and the French government also supports this hideous act.”
The chief of Iran’s judiciary has stated that what has been done in France in this regard is against human rights.
Calls to boycott French goods are growing around the world after President Emmanuel Macron’s comments against Islam and Muslims.
Macron on Wednesday accused Muslims of separatism and vowed not to give up cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammed.
Reacting to a violent incident attributed to a police force which went viral, the Judiciary Chief said that any offence from anybody in any job will be prosecutable and no organ or body can offend the law and the Judiciary will confront with offenders. He added that people should be aware of enemies’ moves who want to misuse of any incident in the country to ruin the position and reputation of the organs or persons.
The Judiciary Chief added that enemies have started a psychological war against the revolutionary bodies and police force in the country by blowing up any mistake from the staff of those organs.
Reacting to Supreme Leader’s remarks on avoiding disrespecting the officials, he said criticism is different from disrespect, reiterating that insult is condemned no matter it happens to an official or an ordinary person.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Global reactions to the recent UAE-Israel deal continue with condemnations pouring in from Islamic countries.

The secretary-general of Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah condemned the deal on Friday, saying that certain Arab regimes heed US diktats to normalize ties with the Israeli regime, calling for the termination of such ties, which he said would end in failure if kept in place, Tasnim News Agency reported.

“We weren’t surprised by the UAE’s decision, as various forms of Israeli-UAE normalization and cooperation were already underway for a long time,” Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said, adding, “Trump has already milked the Persian Gulf states financially, religiously and morally just to serve his friend, (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu.”

The deal between the UAE and Israel was announced on Thursday. US President Donald Trump, who apparently helped broker the deal, has attempted to paint it as a big breakthrough.

But the Palestinians have utterly rejected the deal.

‘Aggression’ against Palestinians

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas referred to the deal as an “aggression” against the Palestinian people and a “betrayal” of their cause. The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas described it as “a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause.” And Palestinian people staged protests against the deal in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip on Friday.

The Emirates is now the third Arab country, after Egypt and Jordan, to normalize with Israel. Abu Dhabi was already believed to have clandestine relations with Tel Aviv, according to Press TV.

Turkey’s threat

Ankara also condemned the deal as an act of treachery.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan harshly criticized the UAE for its deal with Israel, saying he is considering breaking off all diplomatic ties with the UAE.

Erdogan’s criticism came as most Arab nations have historically refrained from maintaining formal diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv in protest against its occupation of Palestine, Aljazeera reported.

Turkey said history and the collective conscience of people in the Middle East will not forget and never forgive the “hypocritical behavior” of the UAE in agreeing to normalize ties with Israel.

Israel and the UAE reached an agreement – brokered by the United States – to work towards a “full normalization of relations” – a deal the Palestinians called a “treacherous stab in the back”.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Friday the Palestinian people and administration were right to react strongly against the deal.

“The UAE, which is pursuing secret ambitions over a US plan that is stillborn, null and void, ignores the willpower of Palestine,” said a ministry statement.

Turkey expressed serious concern over the UAE’s aim to unilaterally abolish the 2002 Arab Peace Plan, which envisioned a normalization of relations between the Arab world and Israel in exchange for a full withdrawal by Israel from the occupied Palestinian territories.

“With that being the case, there is no credibility in presenting the trilateral declaration (between the US, UAE, and Israel) as a support to the Palestinian cause.”

The UAE administration “has no authority to negotiate with Israel on behalf of Palestine without consent from its people and administration regarding vital matters”, the ministry said.

“Neither history nor the collective conscience of the region will ever forget and forgive the hypocritical behavior of the UAE, which is trying to depict the deal as a sacrifice for Palestine when in reality it is a betrayal to the Palestinian cause for its own narrow interests.”

Under the UAE-Israel agreement, Israel said it agreed to “delay” the annexation of Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank, but the plan “remains on the table”.

The surprise deal was the product of lengthy discussions between Israel, the UAE, and the US that accelerated recently, the White House said.

‘Great betrayal’

Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement has also decried the deal as a “great betrayal” of the Palestinian cause.

In a statement issued on Friday, Ansarullah’s political bureau said the exposure of the UAE-Israel relations proved the emptiness of all the pan-Arabist slogans raised by the Saudi-led coalition in waging war on Yemen, Press TV reported.

The statement added that the UAE was continuing to move forward on the wrong path of serving American and Israeli interests against the Muslim Ummah, referring to the Emirates’ participation in the Saudi-led war on Yemen, which began in March 2015 and has left tens of thousands of people killed.

Ansarullah dismissed assertions that normalization with the Israeli regime would lead to the establishment of peace and stability in the region as “mere delusions.”

It also called for isolating any regime that announces normalization with Israel and boycotting it economically and commercially, stressing that Arab and Muslim peoples were able to do a lot to help Palestine.

Jordan’s stance

Jordan said the outcome of the agreement would depend on Israel’s actions, including its stance on “a two-state solution” with the Palestinians, AFP reported.

Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi said: “the impact of the deal on peace efforts is linked to the actions Israel will take”.

Saudi Arabia, a close US ally, has remained eerily quiet on news of the accord.

Nights of Decree Vitalize Our Souls

We are now in the holy month of Ramadan, and the outbreak of Coronavirus has deprived us, Muslims, of religious gatherings till the layali al-Qadr (Nights of Decree). The Coronavirus Fight National Headquarters, upon the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s recommendation, released restrictions for gatherings in mosques, provided that all sanitary protocols are observed, for marking layali al-Qadr to pray God and to seek help from Imam Mahdi (AS) for the better in the year ahead.

IRAN NEWS POLITICAL DESK

Essentially in the holy month of Ramadan and according to what has been cited in the Holy Quran, there is a night which is called “Qadr” and according to the Holy Quran, it is of the best nights of the year. According to reliable quotations from the grandees and scholars of the religion, five nights of Ramadan Ramadan could be nights of decree which are 17th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, and 27th of the month.

But they have put emphasis more on nights of 19, 21 and 23 of the month and there are some quotations from the sixth Imam of Shiites, Imam Jaafar Sadq (AS), who has paid more emphasis on 23rd of Ramadan as the Night of Decree. There are some narratives from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) where he has said the Night of Decree will remain with ummah till the Resurrection. The meaning of those narratives is that the Night of Decree is something more than sending down of the Holy Quran. The Holy Quran has been sent down on the Night of Decree but there is something else lying in this night. What is it? Those, who marking this night and believe it, ask what has descended from the Heaven?

Some Muslim scholars and grandees of Shia link fully the meaning of the Night of Decree to the fasting in Ramadan. So we realize that first, fasting prepares the one who fasts in order that he could remove the curtain from his wisdom for better and comprehensive seeing, thinking and learning more than the days that he eats more. Secondly, fasting makes the man feel the pains of other people and it makes his feeling more sensitive and expanded. Thirdly, fasting creates some kind of preparedness and sustainability in man because he stands against temptations and hardships and consequently his patience grows and patience has deep relation with fasting.

The Holy Quran in verse 153 of the Cow Chapter says, “O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer,” and meaning of patience in ahadith (collected sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)) is the very fasting.

So we realize that fasting brings three properties for the human: more understanding, more feeling and more patience. These triple factors are actually tools for human to make decision for forming his future and fate. So the one who fasts has better insight due to his fasting and feels the pains in the society much more, and his patience increases for continuing his path. So this man is the one who can make decision and portray a path for his future and determine his fate in his decisions. And praying and demand from Almighty would help him in this process of improvement.

Imam Musa al-Sadr, the Lebanese leader who has gone missing, may God bless him in interpretation of Ad-Dukhan (the Smoke) Chapter of the Holy Quran which is recited mostly in these days says, “Ha, Meem. By the clear Book, Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind].On that night is made distinct every precise matter -[Every] matter [proceeding] from Us. Indeed, We were to send [a messenger] As mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.”

Since the word “Dukhan” (smoke) has been mentioned in the chapter, the chapter has been named ad-Dukhan. It is one of the chapters in the Holy Quran which is mostly recited during the Night of Decree. The first six verses of the chapter, which were mentioned above, openly show that the chapter definitely deals with layali al-Qadr (Nights of Decree). So I think it is better to mention some points on this issue which is a complicated one and it is a secret among the Muslims.

This chapter defines the theme and meaning of layali al-Qadr, a meaning which is totally different with the common prevalent meaning because it says, “We have sent the Holy Quran down during a blessed might.” And in the Qadr (Power) Chapter and in its first verse, it has been emphasized that the Holy Quran has been sent down during the Night of Decree, “Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree.”

So the blessed night is the very Night of Decree when the Holy Quran has been sent down. These verses interpret the meaning of Night of Decree in this way that the Night of Decree is that night of sending down of the Holy Quran and in the Holy Quran, everything has been clearly defined and everything about halal (allowed), haram (forbidden), right and corrupt as well as legal truths have been cleared. By the way, all definitions about mystical values and Divine teachings and meanings have been mentioned.

Hence, month of Ramadan is an educational course which determines the fate of human, and it means his fate of the whole year is set based on the framework which has been designed in the heart and soul of the pious and the degree of piety in him in Ramadan. It means Ramadan is month of education and because of the Nights of Decree when man reaches this educational course, he would evolve.

This evolution lies in the third decade of the month and according to some narrations, the Night of Decree is one of the last days of the third decade of the month. In some narrations have been mentioned that any man has a Night of Decree which differs from other one’s and this meaning accords with the concept about the relation between the Night of Decree and fasting.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – A senior Saudi Arabia official urged more than one million Muslims intending to perform the Hajj to delay making plans this year in comments suggesting the pilgrimage could be canceled due to the new coronavirus pandemic.

In February, the kingdom took the extraordinary decision to close off the holy cities of Mecca and Medina to foreigners over the virus, a step which wasn’t taken even during the 1918 flu epidemic that killed tens of millions worldwide, The Associated Press reported.

Restrictions have tightened in the kingdom as it grapples with over 1,500 confirmed cases of the new virus. The kingdom has reported 10 deaths so far. The Middle East has more than 71,000 confirmed cases of the virus, most of those in Iran, and over 3,300 deaths.

“The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is prepared to secure the safety of all Muslims and nationals,” Saudi Hajj and Umrah Minister Muhammad Saleh bin Taher Banten told state television. “That’s why we have requested from all Muslims around the world to hold onto signing any agreements (with tour operators) until we have a clear vision.”

He spoke as the sound of crickets echoed in the background late Tuesday night at the Grand Mosque of Mecca, which normally draws thousands of worshippers throughout the day and night, circling it and praying toward it.

Saudi Arabia has barred people from entering or exiting three major cities, including Mecca and Medina, and imposed a nighttime curfew across the country. Like other countries around the world and in the Middle East, the kingdom also suspended all inbound and outbound commercial flights.

Each year, up to two million Muslims perform the Hajj, a physically demanding and often costly pilgrimage that draws the faithful from around the world. The Hajj, required of all able-bodied Muslims to perform once in their lifetime, is seen as a chance to wipe clean past sins and bring about greater humility and unity among Muslims.

Standing in Mecca in front of the Kaaba that Muslims pray toward five times daily, Banten also said the kingdom was already providing care for 1,200 pilgrims stuck in the holy city due to global travel restrictions. A number of them are being quarantined in hotels in Mecca, he said.

The state-run Saudi Press Agency cited Banten’s remarks in stories early Wednesday, saying that Muslims should “be patient” in making their plans for the Hajj. The pilgrimage was expected to begin in late July this year.

The kingdom’s Al Saud ruling family stakes its legitimacy in this oil-rich nation on overseeing and protecting the Hajj sites. Saudi King Salman, whose country is presiding over the Group of 20 nations this year, has said his government will cover the costs treatment of all coronavirus patients in the country, including visitors, foreign residents and those residing illegally.

India Should Get Ultimatum

Recent U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to India was a turning point for encouraging the Indian Government to launch the citizenship law in order to harden the situation for Muslims. In recent days after Trump’s visit to New Delhi, Hindus in collaboration with police forces across India have attacked Muslims with stone and clubs to suppress their protests savagely.

IRAN NEWS POLITICAL DESK

It seems the late Imam Khomeini in his message on July 28, 1987, addressing world Muslims had predicted these days. The late Imam Khomeini in his massage had said, “Today governments and the subservient of superpowers, although have started a serious war with Muslims and like Indian government massacre innocent and freedom-seeker Muslims, never dare to close or destroy a mosque or any shrine of Muslims and they can never turn off the light and suppress the love of millions of Muslims.

Even, Indians destroy or close mosques and political and religious sites of ulema and even they kill ulema in public, it will prove the innocence of Islam and it will turn attention of Muslims to clerics more than ever and will follow them.

Is not it that ulema have promised God not to stay silent and to stand against tyranny and cruelty? Is not it that ulema are the sign of prophets and infallibles? So, ulema should come to the rescue and help of Islam and save Islam from the isolation which is entangled in.

That we seat and by only sending diplomatic message expect India to stop its racist policy in its new citizenship law is not enough. That Indian leaders by continuing trade worth billions and freezing Iran’s money take advantage in their economy and stab Muslims from behind needs undiplomatic solution.

On December 12, 2019, Indian Parliament approved citizenship bill and Indian President Ram Nath Kovind signed it into law. The move was a beginning for protests in India which is widening everyday. Who denies that the law is not fully discriminatory and rights of Muslim communities have not been ignored?

As we know, peaceful co-existence among different religion practitioners were the core of thoughts of founders of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru in building India in the new era. Is not it that India was considered as a safe haven for all religions? History never forgets that on the eve of British forces’ pullout from India and dominance of Indians on their country, Muslims feel frightened and some developments in the history made them establish an independent country which later was named “Pakistan” and they moved there. In that time, disintegration in Indian sub-continent was turned into the biggest exodus of the 20th century.

At that time, many Hindus and Muslims in India were forced to ignore each other and to choose their own borders for future life. Violence and exodus led to death of millions of people. Since Pakistan with majority of Muslims was established and majority of Hindus dominated India, both countries have always looked at each other as sworn enemy and Kashmir has turned into a war front for exercising proxy against each other.

Are Indian leaders after repeating the history? Do they want to force Muslims to revolt and to create another country beside Pakistan and Bangladesh? Are souls of Gandhi and Nehru content with Kovind’s decision?

Do world people accept this act from India which considers itself the biggest democracy? It is a must for all Muslim countries to issue an ultimatum to India. It seems Trump has promised India to silence countries like Egypt, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia over this discriminatory law. Otherwise, committing such an ethnic cleansing in collaboration with police could unlikely happen. As Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has said, “Everyone who hears a cry for help in which it asks Muslims to help and he does not come to help, he is not Muslim.”

So where are Muslims to blunt the blade of injustice on the neck of innocent Muslims in India? Indian government is undoubtedly going astray and it will soon see its consequence.
