Shajarian, Maestro of Traditional Music to Be Out of Hospital Soon

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The living legend of Persian traditional music, Mohammadreza Shajarian, will be discharged from hospital and continue his treatment at home, reported the head of the board of directors of Jam Hospital in Tehran.

According to IRNA, the necessary actions are being taken to discharge the vocalist from the hospital, he said.

“Today (August 22), Shajarian’s general, cardiac and pulmonary/respiratory conditions are stable and better than the day before and if this process continues, we can discharge him in the coming days.” Babak Heidari-Aqdam added.

Shajarian was admitted to the ICU of Jam Hospital in Tehran on August 15, due to a drop in consciousness, hypotension and septic shock.

On February, Shajarian had been also hospitalized due to recurrence of lung disorders caused by heart disease and later his son Homayoun Shajarian on February 21 relieved Shajarian’s fans by publishing a picture of his father’s vital signs.

The senior vocalist was discharged from the hospital on March 24 in a good general condition, and according to the hospital, his treatment was performed outside the hospital under the supervision of the treating physicians.

Mohammadreza Shajarian Health Condition Stable

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Mohammadreza Shajarian has been in Tehran’s Jam Hospital for the past recent days due to some serious health problems.

The rumor of his death circulated on Friday but was later denied by his son Homayoun Shajarian.

On Saturday, Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi expressed hope for a speedy health recovery of the greatest living maestro of Persian classical music, Mohammadreza Shajarian.

In a message on social media, Salehi wrote “Maestro Mohamamdreza Shajarian is the glory of Iran. Iranians keep praying for him.”

A group of Sahjarian’s fans gathered in front of Jam Hospital on Friday night, singing his ‘Morghe Sahar’ (Bird of Dawning) song, with which Shajarian used to end all of his concerts.

National Orchestra to perform in memory of Ali Tajvidi

TEHRAN – The National Orchestra will go on stage at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on Thursday to perform a concert in memory of composer Ali Tajvidi (1919-2006).

Speaking to the reporters on Saturday, vocalist Ali-Asghar Shahzeidi said that he along with singer Hossein Alishapur will accompany the orchestra during the performance.

“I’m very happy that the National Orchestra plans to put on a concert in memory of master Tajvidi,” said Shahzeidi who had worked with Tajvidi on several projects.

Shahzeidi, 70, added, “I’m currently in poor health, but I am deeply indebted master to Tajvidi and I feel very proud to have this opportunity to sing his compositions.”

“I hope I will not disappoint the audience [by my performance due to my poor health],” he noted

In 1998, the orchestra made its debut performance along with world-renowned Iranian vocalist Mohammadreza Shajarian as the founder, Farhad Fakhreddini, conducted it with works composed by Tajvidi.
