Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan have signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MOU) on railway cooperation, the portal of the Iranian Transport and Urban Development Ministry reported on Saturday.

Ambassador of Republic of Kazakhstan to Tehran Askhat Orazbay hopes by removal of the cruel sanctions, the economic ties between Iran and Kazakhstan would broaden, adding that recent visit of the 30-man Kazakh trade delegation to Tehran and signing the MoUs in the fields of exports, imports and logistics indicate the relations of the two countries are being revived in different fields.

Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) said in a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Trade and Integration Deputy Minister that the Eurasia region countries comprise the priority of Iran’s foreign trade, and among Eurasian countries Russia and Kazakhstan have special positions.

Director of Department of the Near, the Middle East and Africa of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan believes the Islamic Republic of Iran is an important country in the region and his country is keen to bolster its brotherly and amicable ties with Tehran.

The Kazakh former Islamic Development Bank Acting Governor and the current Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) believes a bright future is on the way of the IOFS and its programs and the organization expects the number of its members to increase.

The 19th session of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions was held in Nur-Sultan, the capital city of Kazakhstan, on Wednesday October 6 where it was decided the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to be held in Nur-Sultan on September 14-15, 2022.

President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi said that Iran and Kazakhstan have diverse and numerous economic capacities to enhance the level of joint interactions and cooperation, adding, "Joint work groups can identify and operate these capacities in the form of strategic relations in different sectors".

Director of Bureau for the Central Asian Affairs of Iran Trade Promotion organization says due to gradual lifting of pandemic-related restriction and continuation of holding trade events between Iran and Kazakhstan as well as expansion of marine and rail transportation, the trade volume of Iran with the EAEU states and especially with Kazakhstan will enhance this year.

On Wednesday, in Golestan province of Iran, the Embassy and the Consulate General of Kazakhstan together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran held a round table dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of about 100 people.
