TEHRAN (Iran News)  Iran’s Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei has said that the Islamic Revolution eliminated the grandeur of arrogant entities, and that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains as a sovereign power in the world more than four decades after its establishment.   

Mohseni-Ejei made the comment on Sunday as he, along with senior members of the Judiciary, paid a visit to the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini to renew allegiance to the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic.

The judiciary chief said, more than four decades after the Islamic Revolution, enemies have failed in their conspiracies to stop the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The enemies have also failed in their attempts to topple the system in Iran, and that is why they have waged a propaganda campaign to undermine the country’s achievements and to disappoint the Iranian people, he further said.

However, he noted, the enemies have already admitted in their private talks that the Islamic Republic of Iran is powerful. The Iranian people are not passive, and they will defend their revolution and the Islamic Republic whenever necessary, he added.

The judiciary chief and his accompanying delegation visited Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum, near Tehran, on the third day of the 10-day celebrations marking the 46th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The revolution toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime.

“Your martyrs changed the country’s destiny in one of the most critical periods of its history,” the Leader emphasized on Sunday while addressing a large crowd of family members of Iranian martyrs in Tehran. “The Islamic Revolution took place to preserve the country, which was rapidly falling into moral, religious and political decay, and salvaged it.”

The Leader further hailed the Iranian youth for defending the country during Iraqi imposed war in the 1980s — known as the sacred defense — and subsequent enemy plots to destabilize the country, saying: “Then, the enemy launched a military attack. It was the youth who resisted for eight years and saved the country. Then, our youth [firmly] stood up against various sedition efforts, various moves to foment unrest, and different sorts of enemy aggressions until today.”

He underlined that the youth embraced martyrdom, including in last year’s riots, to save the country and steer its fate toward dignity.

The Leader also called on the media and the artists to introduce and highlight the martyrs as role models to the younger generations. He further urged the parents and spouses of martyrs to keep narrating and recounting the stories and lifestyles of their loved ones.

Ayatollah Khamenei then went on to reiterate that the memories of Iranian martyrs should live on as they are ideal “role models” for the youth.

“The behavior of these heroes, their distinguished moral traits, lifestyle, and changes in their lives set an example for the society, especially teenagers and young people,” he said.

He added that publishing the memories of the martyrs’ families will have a significant impact in rightfully promoting the martyrs as true role models.

When in 1979 the Islamic Republic was established in Iran, nobody but the founder of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Ruhollah Khomeini believed that the Islamic Revolution will become a torch-bearer for Muslims and freedom-seeking people in the world and today the Islamic Republic under the leadership of its brave and wise Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei is marching towards more progresses and development with full speed that its enemies covet it.

Although in recent years the world has focused on Iran’s amazing progress in military industries and nuclear programs, the country has also progressed considerably in other fields like Nano-technology, IT, engineering and medical sciences as the country is now one of the medical hubs in the region.

In recent months and after riots and unrests, the enemies mostly the Westerners have magnified the issue of human rights and above all women’s rights while women in the country have experienced amazing progress and achievements that they had never experienced  it during the former regime era.

Contrary to reality, enemies have tried to show the women of Iran are as controlled and oppressed. Did the Islamic Revolution really push them back or lift them up to dignified positions and honor? Are they living in a repressive society or one that liberates and empowers them, especially women, in a progressive way?

Historical evidence shows that women in Iran had no adequate political and social rights before the Islamic Revolution. Both politically and socially, they were in a closed and passive space. The school system of the Pahlavi era, Westernized as it was, stopped many females from pursuing education.

Young girls were discouraged from continuing their education, the reason being the Westernized environment in universities and the opposition to Hijab. However, the scenario changed after the Islamic Revolution as the percentage of females in universities rose considerably.

Today, universities in Iran are flooded with women – confident, happy and self-assured. The Muslim-majority country’s literacy rate for women is among the best in the world.

Various studies have credited it to the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini, who called for the active participation of women, not only in politics but also in higher education and the public sector.

After the Islamic Revolution in 1979, women were given equal rights to shape their futures. The revolution provided them a chance to build their distinct political identity and they have been tremendously successful in doing that.

But the West has tried to paint a negative picture of the Islamic Republic of Iran in dealing with human rights and women’s right but the truth is the otherwise. Women in Iran are today far more politically aware and enlightened than their counterparts in other Muslim societies.

This is just a small part of achievements of the Islamic Revolution. The military industry has experienced an amazing success that has forced enemies to praise the achievements. Various types of missiles and drones as well as other types of weapons are another sings for this progress.

The number of educated in the country has increased considerably and illiteracy has been almost eradicated.

The progress in the IT and other technologies have put Iran on the list of powerful countries in the world and the world and it is expected in the next decades, the Islamic Republic of Iran will turn into a country which inspires other nations to follow it.

The triumphant return of Imam Khomeini to Iran on February 1, 1979, after 15 years in exile, marked the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution. It’s been 44 years this week since that epoch-making event.

The young generation needs to look beyond the fall of the West-backed Pahlavi dynasty in order to understand the complete political significance of the great revolution led by Imam Khomeini.

The Islamic Revolution was, above all, a movement against the Eurocentric paradigm, a political movement that displaced the orientalist framework and its vision of Muslims as beings without agency.

The anti-Eurocentrism of the 1979 revolution can be seen in attempts by the new government in Tehran to dismantle the influence of the West within Iranian society.

We can say, in other words, that the Western ideology, politically embodied by the Shah, was seen by the large majority of Iranians, as a political zombie. A discourse that had and has no takers.

We can describe the Islamic Revolution as the first revolution that didn’t follow Western grammar, and because of this, Western scholars and pundits didn’t see it coming.

The best example of this is the book written by Fred Halliday on the eve of the revolution. The author predicted a number of outcomes for Iran, including military rule, continued monarchy, and even a socialist republic, but failed to mention the possibility of an Islamic government.

That the possibility of an Islamic revolution wasn’t even mentioned can help us understand why the West can’t see Islam through a political prism. In other words, the possibility of using Islamic grammar as an emancipatory tool was, and still is, unthinkable for the West.

The Islamic Revolution was a process, a political process, which created the Islamic identity, an identity rooted in a long tradition of anti-colonial resistance. This identity has nothing to do with the Western grammar of Marxism or national liberation.

The enemies of the Islamic Revolution and arrogant countries and above all its enemy Number 1 Israel have tried for decades to topple the Islamic system in Iran by resorting to any mean plot and excuse but each time they have failed to materialize their vicious goals because the Islamic Republic is a popular system and it has its root in the hearts of the people and it is very vey difficult, and even impossible, for the enemies to cut down this strong tree.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is now a powerful country which decides independently and does not act to please its lords because the era of slavery and colonialism has ended and now Islamic Iran can easily repel any threat and bully and for this reason, Iranians will celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution more ardently than ever to show the enemies they are living in illusion of regime change because Islamic Revolution is like a child for the people and no parents like to destroy their child unless they lose their senses.

So happy Islamic Republic anniversary, and people can smell pleasing scent of freedom and other nations can get inspiration from the Islamic Republic and its wise leadership..

Therefore, the councils were founded as local management entities for the purpose of direct communication and interaction with the people and on the basis of the Constitution.

City and village councils are considered local parliaments that are formed based on the law in the heart of the society and are considered as a form of government of the people over the people and interactive participatory government and have a high position in the law of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On April 29, 1979, less than a month after holding the referendum of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini issued a decree on establishing local councils.

“In order to establish a people’s government in Iran and the sovereignty of the people over their own destiny, which is one of the necessities of the Islamic Republic, I consider it necessary to immediately prepare the executive regulations of the councils for the administration of cities and villages throughout Iran,” the decree reads.

The first law on the city and village councils was approved in 1982. After that, this law underwent changes and amendments on five occasions, and finally, its last amendment was carried out in 1996.

On March 8, 1999, the first general election of the councils was held with great support from the people in more than 40,000 electoral districts, and about 200,000 people were elected as members of city and village councils.

The councils started activity on April 29, 1999, and now the sixth edition of the councils is passing with a membership of more than 126 thousand people.

In the Constitution, the role of the councils in the administration of the country’s affairs is emphasized, and accordingly, they also have duties and powers.

On the other hand, the positive role of the councils can be a factor in the success of urban and rural management in the growth and development of cities and villages, and ultimately the satisfaction of the majority of people and citizens.

Constitution and councils

According to the sixth article of the Constitution, the administration of the country relies on public votes through elections or referendums. Moreover, the Holy Quran has emphasized councils are one of the pillars of decision-making and administration of the country.

Councils are of two types; the basic councils include city and village councils, whose members are directly elected by people, and the second type is the upstream councils, which include district, city, provincial, and the supreme council of the provinces, whose members are elected from among the members of the councils.

Studying the proposals received, determining their priority, and referring them to the relevant authorities, announcing the inadequacies and problems of executive institutions and organizations are among the duties of the councils.

Village administration

Village administration is the newest institution that was formed in the field of rural management in Iran after the Islamic Revolution.

It plays an important role in coordinating executive bodies and following up on their affairs and facilitating the process of affairs at the local level.

In a way, village administration is considered a successful model and symbol in the field of local management.

In many villages of the country, there are productive economic capacities that, if identified and utilized, provide stable and suitable production and employment fields for the villagers and ultimately lead to economic prosperity, improvement of the welfare level, improvement of the livelihood of the villagers and will ultimately stabilize population in these areas.

Village administration is the chief administrator of the village and the representative of the local community.

Due to the duties and powers, it has in the field of development in rural areas, village administration can reduce the indiscriminate migration of villagers to urban settlements with the balanced distribution of facilities and services, while removing deprivation, and creating the necessary platform for the realization of resistance economy policies and sustainable rural development.

If a village is qualified by demographics to establish an administration, the council must declare readiness for this on behalf of the residents.

Since the establishment of the first village administration in 2003, a total of 37,865 village administrations have received establishment permits from the Ministry of Interior.

More than 95 percent of the country’s rural population has been covered by the services of village administrations so far.

In the field of education, the share of women in university faculty members has increased by 33.3 percent, and in medical sciences universities by 34 percent. Also, the number of female students in the country’s universities has increased by 56 percent, according to the report.

Also, illiteracy among women and girls has been nearly eradicated as the literacy rate reached 99.3 percent and the ratio of female to male students has increased by 28 percent.

The report also says that after the Islamic Revolution until the past Iranian calendar year (March 2021-March 2022), more than 9,500 female authors and 840 female publishers were active in the country.

More than 95 percent of births were performed by obstetricians and gynecologists. For every 100,000 women in the country, there are 60 midwives and 2.8 obstetricians.

Also, the implementation of the universal health coverage network for 100 percent of urban residents and 99 percent of villagers and nomads, ranking tenth in the world in terms of the lowest rate of death from the cervix, reducing the death rate of children under 5 years by 2.14 percent per 100,000 births, and reducing the infant mortality rate to 2.8 percent per 100,000 births are among the achievements and advances of women field after the Islamic Revolution, based on the report.

In the field of employment and entrepreneurship, 4,200 rural women’s credit funds have been operating. Also, 2,390 women work as members of the board of directors of knowledge-based companies.

Social security insurance coverage for female heads of households, reducing the unemployment rate of women to 13.7 percent, female employers to 1.2 percent of working women, sustainable business development, increasing women’s access to natural resources, and implementing the national employment empowerment plan with a focus on women, villagers, and nomads are other achievements of the Islamic republic in four decades.

According to this report, there are 16,111 sports clubs for women in the country, and 3,302 medals have been won by female athletes in recent world events.

Illiteracy among women and girls has been nearly eradicated as the literacy rate reached 99.3 percent.

Moreover, 70 women have been presidents of sports committees at the provincial level, and 51 women have been presidents and heads of sports federations. Also, 88,366 women referees have participated in national and international competitions, and Iranian women have worked in 97 international seats in world sports federations.

In the field of media, the participation rate of women in the field of information technology has reached 5.31 percent, 903 women filmmakers have worked in the field of cinema and 2000 women specialists have worked behind the scenes.

Also, 114 national awards and 128 international awards have been won by female filmmakers in prominent festivals.

In the field of power and decision-making, 25.2 percent of the country’s government managers are women at all levels of high, middle, and basic executive management; 1,121 female judges are working in the country, women volunteering to represent the parliament faced a growth of 227 percent, increasing the participation rate of women in the parliament to 59.5 percent are also other achievements of women after the Islamic revolution.

Women have also made significant progress in the field of environment, climate, and crises. As some 40 percent of the positions of deputy heads of the Department of Environment were for women.

Providing basic needs for 20,912 women in the earthquake-affected areas last year and paying subsistence allowances to 299,120 women affected by climate crises are other important measures in the field of women, the report stated.

History has shown that Iranian diligent women have long been taking steps in the tortuous path of development. So, their significant role in the aforementioned achievements should be praised.

Women empowerment

The Welfare Organization will create up to 10,000 jobs to empower women heads of households, Mohammad Nasiri, the deputy head of the organization for cultural and social affairs, said in April.

A total budget of 3 trillion rials (nearly $11.5 million) has been earmarked for empowering these women with the approach of home employment, he explained.

According to the Statistical Center of Iran, out of twenty-two (22) million families in Iran, over three (3) million are WHH and most of them are in less-developed areas. The Government prioritized such families for targeting socio-economic support.

Meanwhile, Zahra Ershadi, Iran’s ambassador and deputy representative to the United Nations, has said that Iran has made significant progress in empowering women, despite U.S. illegal and inhumane sanctions.

Ensieh Khazali, the vice president for women and family affairs, said in the 66th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, that about 12,000 female heads of households underwent empowerment training and entered the traditional and virtual market.

Also, more than 1.1 million women heads of households are covered by the Relief Committee and more than 300,000 are covered by the Welfare Organization, benefiting from special support such as facilities, insurance, and livelihood services.

Since then, Iranians mark the Islamic Republic Day on the twelfth day of the first Persian month of Farvardin (April 1).

In February 1979, Islamic Republic’s founder, the late Imam Khomeini returned to Iran after 15 years in exile and led the campaign to overthrow the Shah of Iran. Two months later, the new government held a referendum on establishing the Islamic Republic based on a new constitution, replacing the Persian monarchy for 2,500 years. On Farvardin 12, the result of the referendum was announced, with 98.2% of the Iranian people voting in favor of an Islamic Republic.

Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, introduced the morning of April 1 as the first day of God’s rule and said: “April 1, which is the first day of God’s rule, is one of the greatest religious and national holidays and the Iranian nation should celebrate this day. The day when the palace of 2,500 years of tyrannical rule collapsed and the evil domination disappeared forever, and the government of the oppressed replaced it.”

Now almost 43 years after that historic moment, the Islamic Revolution moves strongly ahead by achieving successes one after the other in different fields and it is turning to be the last hope of the freedom and independence-seeking nations for justice and fighting the world arrogance.

If we have a short glance at the achievements of the Islamic Revolution since 1979, we can write volumes of books and this is what has made the world arrogant try to topple this establishment or make it a puppet regime and unfortunately they have failed to achieve their goal because of prudent leadership of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and brave Iranian nation who have thwarted any plot.

One can enumerate successes of the Islamic Revolution in any field from military to scientific realms. Regardless of Iran’s amazing achievements in the military sector which has made the country strong enough to repel any bully from enemies, the country has achieved many progresses in the Nano and scientific fields and now the country has turned into a health tourism hub in the region and many people from other countries come for medical treatment to Iran.

Of course like any revolution in the history, the Islamic Republic of Iran has faced ups and downs and it has survived all of the plots and hardships and it has marched ahead with strong determination to materialize its main goal which is promotion of Islam and justice in the country, region and the world.

As usual, the world arrogant countries try to spread disappointment among Iranians and unfortunately some officials in the country either intentionally or unintentionally help them. Fortunately with the current revolutionary government people expect better future and they hope to mark the next Islamic Revolution Day in better economic condition that the current government has promised it.

The Islamic Revolution of Iran is now the source of hope for the oppressed and freedom-seeking people in the world and this is what the founder of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini wanted and his dream is gradually coming true and the countdown has begun. The good economic condition in the country will also strengthen the unity of the nation against any mischief of the enemies who are trying to bring down the establishment via this channel and spreading disappointment and dissatisfaction.

The celebrations began in Tehran and elsewhere at 9:30 a.m. local time (06:00 GMT), with motorbikes and cars driving through the streets in the Iranian capital toward the iconic Azadi (Freedom) Square.

People were able to attend the rallies on foot in areas where fewer COVID-19 cases per capita have been recorded.

Each year, the occasion is commemorated by nationwide mass rallies. However, this is the second year that health protocols changed the format of the rallies.

On the eve of the 43rd anniversary, fireworks displays were performed in Tehran and other cities at 9:00 p.m. overnight, as people chanted Allahu Akbar (God is the Greatest) in an expression of support for the Islamic Revolution.

More than 6,300 Iranian and some 200 foreign journalists, photographers, and cameramen covered the Friday ceremonies.

In Tehran, revolutionary songs played as marchers waved their national flags.

Professional parachutists put on a live performance over the Azadi Square, depicting the Iranian flag in the capital’s sky.

People waived photos of Imam Khomeini, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and legendary General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated in a U.S. terrorist attack in Baghdad two years ago, as well as the martyrs of the Revolution.

Demonstrators also burnt the flags of the United States and the Israeli regime.

President Ebrahim Raeisi addressed the event during Friday Prayers in the Grand Mosalla mosque of Tehran.

The Iranian nation overthrew the despotic regime of Pahlavi, which was fully supported by the United States in the winter of 1979. The struggle against the shah regime reached full fruition on February 11, 1979.

By December 1978, millions of Iranians had taken to the streets in protest against the policies of the shah – Mohammad Reza Pahlavi – on a regular basis.

The rallies this year are of significant importance due to the defeat of Washington’s “maximum pressure” campaign in the face of the Iranian nation’s steadfastness and the US administration’s declaration that it seeks a less confrontational policy toward the Islamic Republic due to the “failed” policy.

In a statement at the end of the events, the demonstrators underlined the necessity of preserving national unity and avoiding any measure that would foment division and sedition in the country.

The nation “under the wise guidance of the Leader and according to our revolutionary vision has realized that the crooked and evil-minded enemy is trying to downplay the glorious actions and epic progress in various fields through a combined attack which exploits their media dictatorship,” the statement read.

They stressed the need to make concerted efforts to fend off threats against the country and to defend the country’s inalienable right to pursue its peaceful nuclear program and advance its defensive capabilities.

While condemning the positions of senior Western officials on Iran’s defense program, the statement thanked the efforts of the Iranian negotiators in Vienna sanctions removal talks and asked them to adhere to the guidance of the Leader and pay attention to the laws passed by the parliament.

They also underscored their full support for the Resistance Front in Palestine as the first issue of Muslims around the world and condemned the brutal crimes conducted by Saudi Arabia against the people of Yemen and the international community’s silence in this regard.

All of the enemy’s dreams and objectives have ended in failure, the general said, adding that the policy of maximum pressure, for instance, has also failed to prevent Iran from boosting its capabilities, including those in the defense sector.

“We are witnessing the decay and weakening of the enemy and it does not look like a power and empire anymore.”

He concluded, “The enemy today has realized that power is what we have. Today, we set condition [for talks] for the enemy, and this is due to the power of the righteous people, who were able to understand the truth of life.”

Previously, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution underlined the importance of protecting the environment and green life as dominant popular culture and urged all the officials to pay more attention to people’s livelihood.

“The destruction of the environment is a great calamity that would ruin the future of mankind, therefore, officials and all people must stand up to it,” Ayatollah Khamenei said on Friday, as he planted two fruit trees saplings to mark the National Tree Planting Day.

“Planting trees and saplings is one of the virtues that is emphasized in the holy Sharia of Islam,” the Leader said.
