Iran-Oman Shipping Line to Be Activated
TEHRAN - Jamal Razaghi Jahromi, the head of the Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce, spoke to ILNA about the outcomes of the recent visit by the Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade to Muscat. He stated that despite a strong political relationship between Iran and Oman over the past 70 years, trade between the two countries has not developed in parallel with political ties. Although trade value has grown by 42% to 60% annually over the past three years, the initial trade volume was minimal. The goal of reaching $5 billion in trade with Oman by 2024, as envisioned by the joint chamber, has not been achieved. It is now optimistically estimated that trade between the two countries will reach between $3 billion and $3.5 billion by the end of the year.
