Iran and Afghanistan signed a memorandum of understanding on Sunday to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of electricity industry.
The first unit of Sardasht Hydroelectric Power Plant in Sardasht county, West Azarbaijan province, became operational on Tuesday, adding 50 megawatts of electricity to the national grid.
A 10-megawatt solar power plant in Baft County, central Kerman province, was connected to the national power grid at the weekend.
