TEHRAN (Iran News) The Islamic Republic of Iran Army initiated the main phase of the joint exercise Zolfaqar 1403 on Saturday (February 22), across the Makran coastlines, the Sea of Oman, and the northern Indian Ocean.

Army infantry, armored and mechanized units, defense systems, naval forces, and both surface and underwater vessels have been deployed in the area for a few days. With the start of the main phase, these units began executing various exercises simultaneously.

Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, the deputy chief of the Army for Coordination and commander of the exercises, said that the drills aim to enhance Iran’s defensive capabilities and deterrent power against any ground, aerial, and naval threats.”Zolfaghar ”

The commander warned that any adversary contemplating harm to Iran’s territorial integrity or interests—whether on land, in the air, or at sea—will definitely face significant consequences.

Sayyari noted these exercises aim to test new tactics developed and implemented by the younger generation within the Iranian Army.

According to the rear admiral, the Iranian Army incorporates state-of-the-art weapons, smart, precise, and guided munitions, and various types of missiles in their annual drills.

The drills are designed to assess the readiness of technologies like cyber and electronic warfare, which have the potential to redefine future battlefields, he added.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The military drill featured various units of the Army Ground Forces, including artillery, armored divisions, airborne units, drone squads, electronic warfare units, and missile groups, all participating to enhance their operational readiness and effectiveness in potential combat scenarios.

Brigadier General Karim Cheshak, deputy commander for Army’s Ground Forces for Operations, said on Tuesday that the exercise involved the use of Fajr-5 missiles and precision-guided artillery, supported by heavy fire from Cobra helicopters targeting simulated terrorist group locations.

Speaking to IRNA, General Cheshak said the primary objective of the war game was to enhance the combat readiness of the Army Ground Forces.

“This exercise prepares our forces for response and counter-operations against any aggressive action,” he said.

He further noted that the drill aimed to demonstrate Iran’s military edge and power in the face of psychological operations by the enemy while boosting national morale, unity, and cohesion.

The commander said that the exercise also sought to promote deterrence and disrupt enemy calculations. “We rehearsed pre-planned strategies using the latest weapons and equipment of the Army Ground Forces,” he added.

Brigadier General Nozar Nemati, deputy commander of the Ground Forces, said an “integrated system for countering all types of UAVs”, which had previously been in the testing phase, has now been operationally assessed during this exercise.

Iranian forces successfully destroyed hostile targets with Fajr-5 missiles, displaying their ability to deploy UAVs directly from their bases to target and eliminate simulated enemy fortifications and equipment.

In addition, Second Brigadier General Qassem Khamoushi, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Aviation (IRIAA), reported the successful completion of the 65th Airborne Special Forces Brigade’s first nighttime heliborne operation.

This operation used night vision equipment installed on the helicopters, he said.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Iran Army Ground Force has test-fired a strategic domestically-developed surface-to-surface missile (SSM), which hit the designated target with pinpoint precision

Deputy Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Force Brigadier General Nozar Ne’mati said the missile, codenamed Fath (Conquest) 360, was launched in the second stage of Eghtedar (Authority) 1401 drills, which are underway in the Nasrabad region of the province.

He added that the Iranian Army units also fired volleys of indigenous Fajr-5 (Dawn-5) missiles. The missile reportedly has a range of 75 kilometers (50 miles) and can carry 175-kilogram fragmentation warheads with 90 kilograms of high explosives.

Ne’mati explained that Fath 360 missile can hit strategic targets at the speech of 3,704 kilometers per hour, and its velocity can be increased to some 5,000 km/h while communicating with satellites for quick navigation and fast strikes against enemy targets.

The high-ranking Iranian military commander went on to say that the missile has enormous destructive power, enjoys high pinpoint accuracy, is fired from a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), and locks onto the target immediately after its blast-off.

The capabilities of the Iranian Army’s armored personnel carriers have also markedly improved in the face of potential threats as twin-tube Dehlavieh anti-tank missile launchers have been installed on them, Ne’mati said.

Mousavi added that the Iranian Armed Forces should always upgrade their training and military equipment in accordance with possible threats.

The Iran Army Ground Force started the two-day Authority 1401 exercises on Wednesday.

According to Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid, the drills have been designed and are being executed according to potential future wars and predicted threats.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The Islamic Republic of Iran Army unveiled two new drone achievements during the visit of the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri to an army-owned UAV secret base.

Major General Mohammad Bagheri visited an army-owned UAV secret base on Saturday. During his visit, the ‘Heidar-1’ cruise missile and ‘Heidar-2’ cruise UAV were unveiled by the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the announced information, the ‘Heidar-1’ cruise missile has a range of 200 kilometers and its speed at the moment of hitting the target is 1,000 km/h. It is the first cruise missile capable of firing from a drone.

By setting up such a secret base designed and constructed hundreds of meters deep in the ground, the Islamic Republic has turned into the drone superpower in the region.

As the secret base which was designed and built at a depth of hundreds of meters has been operationalized, the Islamic Republic of Iran has become the superior drone power in the region.

After visiting the army-owned UAV secret base, General Bagheri emphasized the importance of UAVs in modern warfare.

He also appreciated Iran’s Army Commander Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, saying that one of the concerns of all the country’s commanders in Army Air Defense, Air Force and Navy is how to be prepared for possible future battles.

Iran is one of the top countries in the world in the field of UAVs, he said, adding that the Army is rapidly developing drone power and capability.

Stating that the achievements in the UAV field are completely indigenous and have been achieved with the efforts of young scientists amid sanctions imposed on the country, he said that the missiles with high accuracy and with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers are stationed in underground bases.

This system, which has been designed and built by the experts in the Army Ground Force, can transmit images taken in pitch dark to all remote control and command centers.

It can also combine radar and optical data.

The Army Ground Force also employed an indigenous mobile Geographic Information System (GIS) during the drill to facilitate the control and guidance of operations and the preparation and production of various geographical data and operational maps.

This system will provide the commanders with their essential requirements for controlling and directing operations in remote and operational zones as well as training areas.

The Iranian military forces have been holding massive maneuvers in the past days to test the country’s latest military equipment and to enhance its preparedness in the face of potential threats in simulated conditions of a real war.

In the opening of the factory in the northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi on Tuesday, Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said the Teflon-coated cables are one of the highly-used components in the military industries and are also utilized in the non-military sector.

The minister said the domestic automotive industry would benefit from the homegrown Teflon wires.

The new factory fulfills the country’s demand for Teflon cable, Hatami added.

In remarks in August, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri hailed the country’s defense industry as an inspiring model for the other industrial and the economic sectors, saying the Islamic Republic has attained self-sufficiency in developing various defense products.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – A senior military commander of Iran said on Friday the country’s Army is prepared to halt any threats thanks to its high combat power.

“Today, we have a great military combat power and if there is any threats, we will nip it in the bud,” Iranian Army’s Executive Deputy Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Mahmoudi said, Press TV reported.

What we have, the commander said, is Iran’s capable Army forces which have a brilliant record of success in countering excessive demands by the enemy during the Islamic Republic’s 1980-88 Sacred Defense against an invasion by a Western-backed Iraq.

“Today, we produce various types of missiles, aircraft, helicopters and artillery on our own.”

Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said late last month that the Sacred Defense had led to “valuable” achievements.

“Iran is in a position in the fields of science, politics, and particularly defense that despite the cruel threats by the hegemonic system, it can detect and thwart any threat at its starting point even outside the borders,” Hatami said.

In recent years, Iran has made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and hardware.

Iran has also conducted major military drills to enhance the defense capabilities of its Armed Forces and to test modern military tactics and state-of-the-art army equipment.

The Islamic Republic maintains that its military might poses no threat to other countries, stating that its defense doctrine is merely based on deterrence.

According to Sabahifard, the Soroush project is a medium-range detection and search radar with a range of more than 220 km, which is able to detect low cross-sectional targets at low altitude using semiconductor technology.

“The domestic Soroush radar can carry out missions in all weather conditions. It is capable of withstanding electronic warfare and has high mobility,” he noted.

He went on to say that the Misagh project is capable of combining data received from primary and secondary radars and other target detection sensors and sending them to the integrated air defense network with high accuracy and speed.

“Misagh radar is able to receive, process, and integrate information with a very high data processing capacity and the system does not need any operator,” he added.
