The 1st International Information and Communications Technology of Afghanistan (Ariana ICT) is going to be held at the Inter-Continental Hotel of Kabul during 3-5 September, 2019.

20 countries participating in Iran-ITU joint workshop on digital economy

Participants come from Australia, England, and some countries of southeastern Asian and the Middle East to attend the event which is underway from July 6 to 10 in the Iranian capital.

Digital economy refers to an economy that is based on digital computing technologies. It is also sometimes called the Internet Economy, New Economy, or Web Economy.

The digital economy is one of the main sources for job creation in different countries and Iran is not an exception and the workshop paves the way for the faculty to start activities in this field.

According to the faculty’s website, the main objectives of this face-to-face workshop are to inform and create awareness of the use of telecommunications or ICT in support of the digital economy and society; share international best practices on Digital Transformation, and build capacity and skills development in the digital era through digital transformation.

The headline topics of the event are the role of innovation and new technologies for achieving SDGs, digital transformation and the digital economy, fostering innovation in the workplace and the community, modern design processes and methodologies, technology skill development for employment and business growth and introduction to mobile app development.

Iran, China on one front against US’ unilateralism in IT sector: ICT min.

Making the remarks in a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Iran Chang Hua and before his departure for Dalian, Jahromi underscored the good background of Iran-China cooperation and bright future of their IT relations.

Naming China a significant partner of Iran in the digital economy, the Iranian minister noted that US is pursuing unilateralism in the IT sector as world’s prominent companies active in infrastructure, network, services are American,

Jahromi added that the US sanctions have created some problems for Iran, however, the country has learned how to confront them.

On June 25, Jahromi said that protecting the privacy and security of people in cyberspace should be the highest priority for all of countries, adding that Iranian startups are the best today and Iran invites all countries to invest in this field. Referring to standing against the US, Azari Jahromi called on international community to confront the US unilateralism.

The Iranian minister left Tehran for Dalian, China, on Sunday to take part in World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC).

More than 1,800 leaders from government, business, civil society, academia and the arts will converge in the Chinese coastal city of Dalian from 1-3 July.

Iranian ICT firms in India to sign up on new projects

A group of representatives from Iranian ICT and industrial knowledge-based companies are in New Delhi to discuss ways to expand cooperation with the Indian side, an official at the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology said Tuesday.

Rouhollah Estiri, The CEO of the International Business Development Office at the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology told Mehr News correspondent on Tuesday that a group of representatives from Iranian knowledge-based companies are accompanying Foreign Minister Zarif and his high-ranking politico-economic delegation on the visit to India.

He said the group includes 10 knowledge-based companies active in ICT sector, adding that some industrial companies are also accompanying Zarif on this visit.

According to reports, India ranks as the 2nd largest freelance workforce after the US with over 15 million people working independently in various sectors such as IT and programming, finance, sales and marketing, designing, content and academic writing.

Estiri maintained that Iranian companies are fully capable of taking over a part of these projects, especially in the ICT sector.

He added that the presence of Iranian companies in India can provide the condition for more cooperation in new projects.
