He went on to say that the Islamic Resistance’s operation was a source of pride for all sides in the axis of resistance.

Hezbollah attacked an Israeli personnel carrier traveling near the illegal settlement of Avivim on Sunday in response to Israeli aggression last week on Syria and Lebanon which killed two of the resistance members.

After the Sunday aggression in Lebanon and Syria against Hezbollah forces, the leader of the Resistance movement Hassan Nasrallah had vowed that the aggression would not go unanswered and Sunday’s operation seemed to be the promised response to the aggression.

With Israel announcing the cessation of exchange of fire on Sunday, it seems they are not willing to escalate tensions any further despite their earlier warnings of a devastating war. Hezbollah’s response to the Israeli aggression appears to have been a timely and calculated one.

Naghavi Hosseini has written in his tweet that Iran will vigorously continue its nuclear activities in line with the previously announced policies, and it is up to the Europeans who have to come up with a solution before it is too late.

The spokesman’s remarks came within only hours after Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also announced on Saturday that reductions in JCPOA commitments will continue in accordance with the 2015 nuclear deal or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

On May 8, the anniversary of the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal (JCPOA), Iran announced that it was partially discontinuing its obligations under the JCPOA and urged nuclear deal remaining signatories – China, the European Union, France, Germany, Russia and the United Kingdom – to shield Tehran from Washington’s sanctions.

Tehran says its countermeasures fit within its rights under paragraphs 26 and 36 of the nuclear deal, and that it will reverse the measures once its demands are met.

Iran has already implemented the first and second phases of its actions in reducing its JCPOA commitments by increasing the stockpile of enriched uranium above the 300kg outlined by the JCPOA and has increased the level of uranium enrichment above the 3.67% level. It has warned that it will increase the enrichment level to 20% if the other parties continue to not abide by their commitments under the deal.

Buying the American F35 jets and threatening to attack other countries is another measure by the regime, which would help trigger conflicts, he added.

“Such behaviors show their [the Israelis] constant policy of warmongering and adoption of military games in the region,” he said while rebuking the western countries, especially the US, for aggravating the situation in recent years by increasing their military cooperation with the occupying regime.

On July 9 and during a visit to air force base,  Israeli regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened Tehran that the regime’s F-35 fighter jets can reach “anywhere in the Middle East.”

“Iran should remember that these planes can reach every place in the Middle East, including Iran, and of course also Syria,” said Netanyahu.

However, many experts believe such claims are laughable and beyond Israel’s capability.

Reacting to Netanyahu’s threats, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said last week that any violation of the country’s sovereignty after would be retaliated with a crushing response.

“Any enemy which seeks to violate the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran, be it at any level, will receive a decisive and crushing response it shall regret,” Brigadier General Hatami said.

While the mechanism has been recently announced by the EU as ‘operational’, Iran says as long as it does not cover oil exports, the mechanism is of no use to the country. Iran has given the European sides until July 7 to deliver on their promises, otherwise the country would begin the second stage of its reduction in commitments to the nuclear deal.

On this, Naghavi-Hosseini said that Iran’s measure to exceed uranium stockpile limit has worried the European sides, promoting them to hastily announce the operationalization of INSTEX in a bid to show they are still committed to the nuclear deal and prevent Iran from using the provisions stipulated in the agreement.

“Limiting INSTEX to medicine and food products is contrary to what the European sides had promised under the nuclear deal, because the international law does not allow sanctions on food and medicine for any country,” he added.

“Iran by no means considers a restricted INSTEX as EU’s delivering on its JCPOA commitments. Their commitment was to set up a channel for Iran’s oil exports so that we could receive the revenues through it,” he said.

Naghavi-Hosseni stressed that since INSTEX falls short of what EU had promised to Iran, the Islamic Republic should still continue with its decision to further reduce commitments to the JCPOA to show its serious resolve to the Western sides.

The downing of the US spy drone will be discussed in the session, he said, adding that, the members of the committee will next study the US drone debris.

A US Global Hawk spy drone intruded into Iranian airspace on Thursday, which was brought down by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps after the drone ignored Iran’s several warnings. IRGC says there was another intruding US manned plane beside the Global Hawk but the force ‘refrained’ from targeting it.

Iran has provided sufficient evidence proving that the UAV had violated Iran’s airspace, including exact coordinates of the place as well as sections of the vehicle’s wreckage which were retrieved from Iranian waters. Tehran also says it will take the case to the UN.
