Syrian Army Strengthens Defenses, Advances in Northern Hama

TEHRAN (Iran News) Units of the Syrian armed forces operating in northern Hama reinforced their defensive lines overnight with additional personnel, firepower, and equipment, effectively repelling attacks by armed groups, a military source stated.

The source added that the army successfully secured several strategic areas, including Qala’at Al-Madiq and Ma’ardis, eliminating dozens of militants while others fled.

The Syrian Army’s General Command confirmed that the ongoing confrontation with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, which began last Wednesday. It announced plans to transition into a counterattack to reclaim all areas under militant control.

Syrian media earlier reported reinforcements arriving at advanced positions in the Hama countryside, showcasing preparations for further military actions.

Meanwhile, the General Command reiterated that the army’s recent redeployment along the Aleppo and Idlib fronts aimed to fortify defensive lines, protect civilians and soldiers, and prepare for large-scale operations.

A separate report revealed that Syrian-Russian air raids targeted a central command post of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, possibly injuring or killing its leader, Abu Muhammad al-Julani. Airstrikes also disrupted Al-Nusra’s supply routes near Al-Ghab Plain in central Syria.

In another operation, Syrian warplanes destroyed a column of armored vehicles on the M-5 highway, thwarting a planned militant assault, according to military sources. Footage obtained by RIA Novosti showed the convoy’s destruction.

Naval Colonel Oleg Ignasyuk, Deputy Head of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Hmeimim, reported that Syrian forces had neutralized over 300 militants in Aleppo and Idlib within the past 24 hours.

This escalation follows last week’s militant operation, which led to the capture of areas in Aleppo and Idlib.

Despite these developments, the Syrian army remains focused on regaining lost territory and eliminating terrorist threats.

Syria intercepts Israeli airstrike at Hama military base

A military source said that at about 02:30 am on Saturday, warplanes of the Israeli enemy conducted an airstrike from the Lebanese airspace on one of the military positions towards Massyaf City.

The source added that the Syrian air defenses immediately intercepted the hostile missiles and downed some of them before reaching their targets.

The source indicated that the Israeli attack caused the destruction of some buildings and the injury of three fighters.

Syrian Army retaliates to terrorists’ breaches in Hama

Units of the Syrian Arab Army conducted on Sunday artillery strikes against terrorists’ positions and their movements in surroundings of a number of villages and towns in Hama northern countryside in retaliation to their violations of the demilitarized zone agreement.

SANA’s reporter said that army units detected a terrorist group affiliated with “al-Izza Brigades” that were trying to sneak from the surroundings of the Hasraya, al-Sakhir, and Kafar Zeita villages in Mharde northern countryside towards military points in the surroundings of the safe villages.

The army units dealt with them using concentrated artillery strikes , inflicting losses upon them.

About 30 km north of Hama city near the administrative border of Idleb southern countryside , an army unit also foiled an infiltration attempt by a terrorist group from Jabhat al-Nusra in the surroundings of Morek village , inflicting heavy losses upon them, the reporter added.

Syrian Army repels terrorists’ attacks on military points in Hama

Syrian Army units operating in Hama northern countryside repelled new attempts by terrorists to sneak to and attack military points in the vicinity of safe villages and towns in the area.

SANA reporter in Hama said an army unit positioned near Jourin town north of Hama carried out concentrated hits against hideouts and fortifications of the so-called ‘Turkistan Party’ terrorists after they attacked military points with explosive missiles, in a new violation of the demilitarized agreement in Idleb.

The army’s hits resulted in destroying terrorists’ positions and killing an unidentified number of them, the reporter said.

To the north of Mhardeh city, army units responded with intensive and concentrated strikes to attacks with automatic weapons by terrorist groups positioned in Tal-al-Sakhr area on military points in the area. The army operation destroyed one of the terrorists’ fortifications and killed all the terrorists inside it, added the reporter.

Syrian army destroys rocket launching pads for terrorists in Hama, Idleb

Units of Syrian Arab Army targeted dens and sites for Jabhat al-Nusra and terrorist groups affiliated to it in a number of towns located in the administrative border between Hama and Idleb provinces, inflicting heavy losses upon terrorists in ranks and arms.

SANA’s reporter in Hama said an army unit carried out artillery strikes targeting the movements of a terrorist group on the road linking Qalaat al-Madiq and Shahshabo Mount in the far northwest of Hama, killing or injuring all the group’s members.

Terrorist Khaled al-Hussein aka “Abu Walid” was identified among the killed terrorists.

The reporter said that a number of terrorists’ dens and rocket launching pads were destroyed due to the army’s strikes on their fortified positions in the towns of al-Latamina and Kafer Zita in the northern countryside of Hama.

In the southern countryside of Idleb, terrorists in al-Habit town in Khan Shaikhoun area have suffered significant losses in arms and personnel as a result of army’s operations against their fortified points.
