TEHRAN (Iran News) In his letter sent on Sunday, Darwish congratulated Araghchi on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan and wished prosperity for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He referred to Hamas’s full commitment to the Gaza ceasefire agreement with the Israeli regime and outlined clear and flagrant violations of the truce by the occupying entity.

These included daily attacks on Palestinian areas, the continued killing of Palestinians — especially women and children — detention of Palestinians, severe restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, obstruction of operations at the Rafah crossing and movement of Palestinian citizens, and prevention of the reconstruction of vital infrastructure.

In the final part of his letter, Darwish stressed the need for serious efforts by mediators and the international community to compel the occupying regime to fulfill its commitments, including “the immediate cessation of killing, massacre and violation of the rights of the Palestinian people,” adherence to provisions on humanitarian aid, lifting restrictions at the Rafah crossing, allowing fuel and equipment for reconstruction, observing humanitarian rules, and halting torture and mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners.

TEHRAN (Iran News) In a joint statement issued late on Sunday, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar and Egypt said they consider Israeli violations as dangerous and a direct threat to the political process, hindering efforts in both security and humanitarian aspects in Gaza.

“These actions risk escalating tensions and undermining efforts aimed at consolidating calm and restoring stability, at a time when regional and international parties are working collectively to advance the second phase of the [US] President Donald Trump’s plan and to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803,” read the statement, which was also posted on the Saudi Foreign Ministry website.

The ministers urged all parties to fulfill their responsibilities at this critical stage and exercise maximum restraint in order to preserve the ceasefire and ensure its sustainability, stressing the need to avoid any action that undermines current process in Gaza.

They also called for creating create conditions conducive to early recovery and reconstruction, while advancing a just and permanent peace rooted in the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood, in line with international law, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The statement was issued after the Israeli regime once again targeted several areas of Gaza, killing at least 32 people, including women and children on Sunday. Nearly 550 Palestinians have been killed and some 1,400 others injured since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025.

TEHRAN (Iran News) In a statement on Tuesday, the ICJ—the highest judicial body of the United Nations based in The Hague—announced that Belgium had filed a declaration of intervention in the case, according to Al Jazeera.

Several other countries, including Brazil, Colombia, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, and Turkey, have already joined the proceedings since South Africa brought the case in December 2023.

South Africa argues that Israel’s war on Gaza violates the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

In January 2024, the ICJ issued provisional measures ordering Israel to take steps to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza and to allow unimpeded access for humanitarian aid. Despite growing international criticism, Israel has continued its military assaults on the territory and restricted the flow of aid.

The regime has also maintained its actions despite a ceasefire that began on October 10 this year. According to Gaza health officials, more than 400 people have been killed since the ceasefire took effect. Overall, the war has left at least 70,942 Palestinians dead and 171,195 wounded since it began on October 7, 2023.

TEHRAN (Iran News) In a statement released on Sunday, the OIC described the Israeli massacre of Palestinians in the besieged coastal strip as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

It called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to put an end to Israeli crimes and violations by establishing a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, ensuring adequate and unhindered access for humanitarian aid, and the withdrawal of occupation forces from Gaza.

The 47-member body, known to be the collective voice of the Muslim world with its headquarters in Jeddah, also stressed the need for activating international criminal justice mechanisms to prosecute and hold accountable Israeli officials involved in these heinous crimes.

Last Friday evening, Israeli forces shelled a school-turned-shelter in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, leaving seven Palestinians dead and several others injured.

The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas described the massacre as a “clear and new violation” of the truce agreement. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, some 400 Palestinians have been killed and over one thousand wounded in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire went into effect in October.

Hamas warns Gaza ceasefire deal may collapse due to Israeli violations

TEHRAN (Iran News) Qassem made the remarks on Monday, a day after reports that a Hamas delegation had traveled to Cairo, Egypt, for talks with ceasefire mediators. Egypt, the United States, and Qatar have been mediating between Hamas and Israel, and helped secure the ceasefire that took effect on October 10.

The spokesperson confirmed the delegation’s visit to Cairo, saying they discussed ongoing Israeli violations.

“Israel’s continued violations could undermine the ceasefire agreement, a point the movement made clear to the mediators in the Cairo talks,” he said in a press release carried by The Palestine Chronicle.

Qassem added that the presence of Hamas delegates in Cairo demonstrates the movement’s commitment to the ceasefire and readiness to move into the next, more complex phase of the agreement.

“The second phase of the agreement is complex, and we have fulfilled what was required of us, while Israel continues its violations and breaches,” he noted.

The ceasefire is the first phase of a plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza and bring “permanent” peace to the territory.

Under the first phase, Hamas was required to release some 50 remaining Israeli captives—dead or alive—in exchange for Israel halting attacks and easing restrictions on aid deliveries into Gaza.

Hamas has so far released all 20 surviving captives and handed over the remains of 25 out of 28 others. It says the retrieval of additional bodies has been delayed due to a lack of equipment to sift through the rubble. Israel, however, says it will not begin negotiations on the second phase until it receives the remaining bodies. The second phase includes, among other measures, the deployment of an international stabilization force in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israel has continued its attacks on Gaza, killing at least 300 Palestinians in shelling and shootings across the territory, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.

Officials in Gaza also say, of the 600 aid trucks agreed to enter the territory each day, fewer than one-third have been allowed through.

Deadly remnants of war

The Gaza officials have also voiced strong criticism over unexploded ordnance and other remnants of war, which they say continue to take a heavy toll on the population.

According to the Gaza Civil Defense Team, one child was killed and several others wounded in Gaza City on Monday due to explosions caused by such remnants.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem called on relevant international institutions to cooperate in immediately clearing the war remnants.

Resistance groups say UNSC resolution on Gaza fails to uphold Palestinians’ rights

TEHRAN (Iran News) Condemnations poured in on Tuesday after the UN Security Council approved the US-sponsored resolution enabling a so-called international peace and stabilization mission in Gaza. The text, which was revised several times, authorized the 20-point plan proposed by US President Donald Trump that opened the way for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas to take hold on October 10.

Hamas politburo member Mohammad Nazzal said despite the revisions made to the draft before the vote, the resolution failed to meet the demands of the Palestinian people.

He reaffirmed Hamas’s opposition to an attempt to “impose international guardianship” over Gaza under the UN umbrella. Nazzal noted that the movement is consulting with various countries to ensure that any implementation of the resolution avoids renewed conflict and does not impose negative consequences on civilians.

The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine also issued an equally strong rejection. Spokesman Muhammad al-Hajj Mussa called the resolution an American coup against the negotiation process, stressing that the Palestinian resistance groups had fully adhered to the first phase of the ceasefire agreement and had been preparing for phase two.

He warned that any international force entering Gaza without public consent would be treated as an occupying force, adding that the current structure of the resolution could inflame tensions across the region.

Yemen condemns UN’s Gaza resolution

Yemen’s Foreign Ministry also denounced the resolution, arguing it disregards fundamental Palestinian rights, particularly their right to end the occupation, ensure self-determination, and establish an independent Palestinian state. Any plan that bypasses these rights, the ministry said, is destined to fail.

UN Security Council Resolution 2803 passed with 13 votes in favor and two abstentions—China and Russia. The measure authorizes a transitional Peace Council to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction and an international stabilization force tasked with disarmament operations, including collecting weapons and dismantling military infrastructure in the territory.

Iran: Major part of UN Security Council resolution on Gaza violates rights of Palestinian people

TEHRAN (Iran News) The full text of the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the UN Security Council resolution on Gaza is as follows:

1-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while supporting any regional or international action to end the genocide and crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people and Gaza, the effective entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, and the complete withdrawal of the Zionist occupiers, expresses its serious concern regarding the provisions of United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2803.

2-A large part of the provisions of this resolution are contrary to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and, by imposing a kind of guardianship system on the Gaza Strip, it deprives the Palestinian people of their fundamental rights, especially the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Holy Quds as its capital.

3-The drafters of this resolution have deliberately ignored the central position and role of the United Nations and even the organization’s previous resolutions on the Palestinian issue.

4-The Islamic Republic of Iran considers any legitimization of the occupation of the Gaza Strip by the aggressive Zionist regime, the division of Gaza, and its separation from the unified geography of Palestine to be contrary to the aspirations of the Palestinian people and warns of its dangerous consequences.

5-International forces must operate under full UN supervision, and their task will be to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the entry and distribution of international humanitarian aid.

6-The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes the responsibility of the international community, especially the guarantors of the ceasefire agreement, to force the apartheid regime and the Zionist occupiers to end the occupation of Palestine and completely withdraw from the Gaza Strip, and believes that no decision can and should distort this.

7-The Islamic Republic of Iran has emphasized the legitimacy of resistance against occupation, apartheid, and colonialism according to international law, and considers resistance to be the legitimate response of the Palestinian people to the continued occupation of the Palestinian land and the continued aggression of the Zionist regime.

8-It emphasizes that any discussion about the fate of the Palestinian people, including how to govern the Palestinian territories, must take place within the framework of Palestinian national agreement and consensus, and that imposing any solution by external parties in this regard is unacceptable.

9-In the current situation where the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank are facing genocide, imposed famine, and colonial annihilation, providing humanitarian aid, relief, and the full reopening of crossings are priorities.

10-The immediate expectation from the international community is to exert effective pressure on the Zionist regime, to prevent the continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes and occupation and gross violations of Palestinian rights in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and to support the realization of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.

11-It also reminds us of the responsibility of the United Nations Security Council and its member states to prosecute and hold accountable war criminals and genocidal perpetrators, given the apparent failure and inaction of the United Nations Security Council over the past two years to stop the genocide of Palestinians.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The office said in a statement on Tuesday that the Israeli “systematic and clear violations” of the truce included attacks that killed 94 people and wounded more than 344 others.

According to the statement, Israeli forces conducted 52 direct shootings at civilians and nine incursions into residential areas beyond what is known as the “yellow line.” It also said there were 55 airstrikes or aerial targeting operations, 11 demolitions of civilian buildings, and 21 arrests across the Gaza Strip.

“We strongly condemn these repeated hostile actions and hold the occupying forces fully responsible for the humanitarian and security consequences,” the media office said, adding that continued breaches posed a threat to the survival of the ceasefire.

Israel continues to weaponize aid in Gaza despite ceasefire: MSF

TEHRAN (Iran News) In an interview published Friday, Willemen told Turkey’s Anadolu news agency that Israel is restricting aid to Gaza under different excuses, while humanitarian assistance should not be tied to political issues.

“I think as we’ve seen over the past two years, humanitarian aid is being used against the people of Gaza. Many different excuses have been put forward to block humanitarian aid, such as the return of the bodies of deceased Israeli prisoners and ceasefire violations. However, humanitarian aid shouldn’t be contingent on such things,” she said.

Willemen also said shortages of water and shelter persist, with hundreds of thousands of residents still living in tents despite approaching winter.

She reported cases of severe malnutrition among children and pregnant women as well, saying that the situation is alarming, as providing daily health services remains extremely difficult.

On Thursday, Doctors Without Borders said in another report that despite the ceasefire, more than a million Palestinians are still being forced to survive on “a tiny patch of land in southern Gaza,” where living conditions are dire and dangerous to their health.

“Along with the massive destruction of civilian infrastructure and the health system by Israeli forces, this displacement has created a perfect storm for the spread of disease and illness,” the report said.

Citing medical data collected by MSF teams this year, the report said that diseases directly linked to poor living conditions account for 70% of all outpatient consultations in the NGO’s healthcare centers in southern Gaza.

Without immediate improvements to water, sanitation, shelter, and nutrition, more people will die from entirely preventable causes, it said.

The ceasefire, agreed between Hamas and Israel, began on October 10 and was meant to put an end to two years of the regime’s genocidal war on Gaza. However, since then, Israeli forces have repeatedly violated the ceasefire, launching airstrikes and shooting at civilians across the territory.

According to Gaza officials, some 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the ceasefire took effect.

Benefits and Harms of Two Years of Killing and Bloodshed

TEHRAN (Iran News) The Gaza confrontation in October 2023 (coinciding with Mehr 1402 in the Iranian calendar) began with a large-scale and unprecedented attack by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called “Al-Aqsa Storm” against Israel.

This operation, which resulted in the killing and capture of a large number of Jewish military personnel and settlers in Israel’s occupied areas, is considered a turning point in the 77-year Palestine–Israel conflict.

In response, Israel launched extensive air strikes and then a comprehensive ground operation against the Gaza Strip. After weeks of intense fighting and international pressure, a new round of negotiations mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, resulted in a temporary ceasefire agreement. Analyzing this path — from “Al-Aqsa Storm” to “Sharm El-Sheikh” — requires an examination of the military, political, and humanitarian dimensions of all these events.

The strategic surprise of that operation showed that Israel’s powerful security and intelligence apparatus (Shin Bet and Mossad) was unable to predict and prevent such a broad attack. This surprise, in itself, delivered a major strategic blow to the security reputation of the fragile Zionist regime. With this operation Hamas proved it has the ability to plan complex, coordinated, cross-border attacks. The action changed the balance of power on the battlefield of resistance and made Hamas’s role as a decisive actor many times more prominent. Because after years of the Palestinian issue being marginalized during the normalization of relations between some Arab countries and Israel (the Abraham Accords), Al-Aqsa Storm returned the Palestinian issue to the center of global attention.

The Zionist regime, under the slogan of “complete destruction of Hamas” and the recovery of the captives, launched an unprecedented onslaught: the Gaza Strip was completely besieged and relentless air bombardments shattered infrastructure, mosques, hospitals, schools, and residential areas. The number of Palestinian fatalities quickly rose into the thousands, including large numbers of women and children. Regime ground forces carried out several stages of advance in northern and central Gaza, which met fierce resistance from Palestinian groups and yielded nothing but slaughter. These attacks produced a full-scale humanitarian catastrophe. Severe shortages of water, food, medicine, and fuel, together with the displacement of more than one million people, created an unbearable situation for Gaza residents. The Islamic Republic of Iran, Hezbollah of Lebanon, Yemen’s Houthis, and Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces supported the Al-Aqsa Storm operation and, through limited border clashes and missile attacks, increased pressure on the Zionist army and regime. This showed that the axis of resistance is a unified and capable force.

The United States and its European allies provided unconditional support to Israel and, by sending weapons, contributed to prolonging the war. In contrast, Arab governments such as Saudi Arabia and Jordan took cautious positions and, while condemning the killing of civilians, emphasized the necessity of forming a Palestinian state. Popular uprisings in Arab countries — and indeed worldwide — also put considerable pressure on their governments to cut ties with Israel. With rising international pressure and the worsening humanitarian situation, negotiations in Sharm El-Sheikh, mediated by the United States and marked by the ostentatious presence of 22 countries, were intensified. Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan defined the basis of a ceasefire as follows:

to render this strip of Gaza free of Hamas’s military presence at Hamas’s own expense and with the participation of Arab countries, in such a way that the poison of the resistance front for Israel would be destroyed in that place. This plan, of course, was not publicized in the media and was disclosed and signed only for a limited number of countries.

But on careful study of the text of the 20-point plan, this issue is quite apparent between the non-black lines of the plan.

One should not be deceived by the outward show of Netanyahu’s reaction, because the plan had previously been signed by Netanyahu and it is even said that he changed some of its clauses; therefore his theatrical reaction fits more into the category of arousing Gaza supporters’ emotions and colluding with Trump. What Gaza needs today is investment in rebuilding a devastated Gaza. It is illogical for an offer of $60 billion to be put on the table and yet not convince Hamas and Islamic Jihad and especially the people harmed by the war, slaughter, and destruction to accept it.
