TEHRAN (Iran News) Ehsan Ansari, CEO of Lamerd Special Zone, pointed to the approximate value of 20,000 billion rials in infrastructure development contracts in Lamerd Special Economic Zone. He added: “This amount of investment has been made in infrastructure projects in the region.” These projects include: construction of civil infrastructure, construction of 132 kV power transmission line, construction of customs warehouses and warehouses in the region, and installation of the second special zone weighbridge.
Ansari further mentioned the new investments in the region: The investments made in Lamerd Special Economic Zone are: concluding a contract for the construction of two petro-refinery complexes with an investment volume of $ 200 million and anticipating the presence of two more petrochemicals by the end of the year. Is.
He expressed hope and said: “With the construction and creation of petrochemicals in the region, we will see a boom in production and sustainable employment.”
The CEO of Lamerd Special Economic Zone pointed to two important and national projects in the region and stated: Guaranteed purchase of water from a private sector investor in the form of water transfer plan from the Persian Gulf to Lamerd Special Economic Zone and its bedrock for development in the province and The country was outstanding. Also, the construction of the Lamerd-Parsian freeway to facilitate access to the Parsian port wharf can be considered as other prominent measures of the Lamerd economic zone and the Imidro organization. The approximate value of these projects is estimated at about 60,000 billion rials.
Ansari in the field of social responsibilities of Lamerd Special Economic Zone and Imidro Organization, referred to the executive operations of the second axis of Lamerd to Khanj. He added: “With the participation of Imidro, the initial stages of the project of doubling the road in front of the special zone have been started, in order to reduce the risks and road accidents.” He also considered the help and support of the neighboring villages affected by the floods in line with the social responsibilities of this region, he added: “After the torrential rains in Lamerd and causing damage, the people of the neighboring villages were helped.” For this purpose, water supply was done from the special area to the neighboring village. The residential building for the two affected families was constructed with the benevolent action of the contractors of Lamerd Special Economic Zone.
It should be noted that Lamerd Special Economic Zone is one of the complexes covered by the Organization for Development and Renovation of Mines and Mining Industries of Iran (Imidro). This region is located in the south of Fars province and adjacent to the two provinces of Hormozgan and Bushehr (Assaluyeh).

Development projects worth $14.7b inaugurated in free trade

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Some 52 development projects worth 620 trillion rials (over $14.7 billion) were put into operation or commenced in Iran’s free trade and special economic zones on Monday, in the 74th series of inauguration ceremonies since the previous Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20).

President Hassan Rouhani inaugurated the mentioned projects through video conferencing in various provinces including East Azarbaijan, West Azarbaijan, Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Gilan, and Sistan-Baluchestan, Mehr News Agency reported.

Put into operation in Kish, Qeshm, Arvand, Aras, and Anzali free trade and special economic zones, the said projects are going to provide direct employment for about 2,090 people.

As reported by IRNA, in this series of inaugurations 15 production and development projects with a total investment of 26.19 trillion rials (about $623 million) were put into operation in the Aras Free Trade Zone which will create jobs for 575 people, while 11 infrastructure projects worth 2.25 trillion rials (about $53.57 million) were inaugurated in Arvand Free Zone, which will provide employment for 260 people directly.

Also, 15 projects were put into operation in Qeshm Free Trade Zone, the investment value of which is 24.80 trillion rials (about $590 million) and will create jobs for 880 people. In Kish Free Zone, nine projects worth 26.89 trillion rials (about $640 million) were inaugurated which create job opportunities for 375 people.

The president also ordered the beginning of several development projects with a total investment of 420 trillion rials ($10 billion). These projects are going to create jobs for 7,117 people when put into operation.

One of the most important projects that were inaugurated on Monday in the Arvand Free Trade Zone, was the Shalamcheh-Basra railway.

Shalamcheh-Basra railway route which connects the southwestern Iranian city of Shalamcheh to Basra in Iraq is 32 kilometers long along which a 700-meter bridge is also constructed.

According to the Secretary of Iranian Free Zones High Council Hamidreza Mo’meni, currently, 621 development projects are being implemented in free trade and special economic zones, which have average physical progress of 50 percent.

Export from Amirabad port up by 35%

Director of Amirabad Port Special Economic Zone Siyavash Rezvani said that diversity of export of 15 products in this port increased export volume of Iranian goods from this port based in the Caspian Sea up by 35 percent.

Speaking on the sidelines of International Hydrographic Conference, he said, “over 400,000 tons of Iranian products [including cement, citrus fruits, gas, construction materials, fresh fruits, tomato paste and clinker] were exported from this port in the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21), showing a considerable growth as compared to the same period of last year.

By exerting port discounts, “we are after diversifying a part of Iranian export portfolio,” he said, adding, “provinces of Mazandaran, Gilan and Golestan are home to the production of kitchen gardens and citrus fruits in the country, so that there is suitable condition for export of these products from northern ports of the country.”

He put the discounts in Amirabad Port for export of domestic products at 25 percent and said, “with the coordination made in this regard, new tariffs for export of Iranian products from northern ports will be announced in this prestigious Conference.”

The aforementioned Conference on export promotion in Amirabad Port via the Caspian Sea will be held on July 11-12 in this port in the presence of representatives from the Caspian Sea littoral states and also officials at Ports and Maritime Organization (MPO).

Introducing export capacity and investment incentives in Amirabad Port has been cited as the most important objective behind organizing this Conference, he maintained.

To materialize objectives of this Conference, Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken effective measures in the countries including Russia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, Rezvani emphasized.

He put the annual capacity of the port in the Caspian Sea at 7.5 million tons and said, “about 4.5 million tons of goods is loaded and unloaded in this port per annum on average.”
