Iran and the member states of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Armenia, signed a free trade agreement (FTA) in a ceremony in St. Petersburg on Monday, IRNA reported.

The value of Iran’s exports to the members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased by 20 percent in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-November 21) as compared to the same period last year, the spokesman of the International Relations and Trade Development Committee of Iran's House of Industry, Mining and Trade said.

Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are going to upgrade the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) already reached between the two sides to a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) by the end of 2022.

The value of trade between Iran and the members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) reached $5.034 billion during the 11-month period from March 21, 2021 to February 19, 2022, Mohammad-Reza Karbasi, a member of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) told the Young Journalists Club (YJC).
