Tariq Shah Bahrami is visiting the Islamic Republic upon the official invitation of Iranian counterpart Brigadier General Amir Hatami; he is heading a high-level defense and military delegation to Iran.

During his stay in Iran, he will meet with Iranian counterpart and other political and defense officials to examine development of military-defense relations and regional and international military cooperation.

Iranian Minister of Defense Brig. Gen. Amir Hatami made the remark in a meeting with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vulin on Thursday, on the sidelines of the 7th Moscow Conference on International Security in the Russian capital.

During the meeting, Hatami voiced Iran’s readiness to expand military and defense cooperation with Serbia, expressing hope to see the signing of agreements on technical, specialized and military cooperation between the two sides in the near future.

“Iran and Serbia’s defense cooperation will contribute greatly to the stability and security of the region,” he added.

Hatami then noted that the US government, under flimsy pretexts and by violating international treaties, is making every effort to prevent the Islamic Republic from reaping the benefits of the JCPOA.

“We expect the international community and the world’s public opinion to exert pressure on the US for its lack of commitment,” he said, adding “no doubt, Iran’s friends across the world will not ignore the US lack of commitment.”

The Serbian minister, for his part, hailed Iran’s efforts for preserving peace and security across the region.

He also voiced his country’s readiness to develop defense and military cooperation with Iran, expressing hope that interactions between the two countries’ ministries of defense would continue to grow alongside the political relations.

Speaking on the sidelines of an IRGC exhibition of the latest defense technologies on Wednesday in Tehran, Brigadier General Hossein Salami underlined that Iran has reached a point where no country can contain the development of its defense capabilities.

Brigadier General Salami pointed out that Iran “through combining new technologies”, has reached newer technologies, highlighting that the Islamic Republic is doing very well in a variety of most advanced and complicated defense technologies.

The IRGC deputy commander also added that Iran has made a lot of progress “in various fields relating to air, sea, land, missile defense and advanced military technologies.”

Referring to recent statements by western officials regarding the need for talks on Iran’s defense program, Salami noted that “our defense program can neither be stopped nor contained.”

“I mean containing our defense strength is well beyond any other country’s reach,” Salami added, explaining “because Iranians from all strata of our society who have the ability and expertise in this [defense] field have joined hands in standing firm agianst the irrational and oppressive expectations and meddlings of countries such as the United States and its European allies, who assume that they can stop our defense advancments by leveling threats and imposing pressure on us,” he added.

At the end of his remarks, the IRGC deputy commander underlined that one day, the antagonistic countries would come to accept Iran’s power.

He was speaking at a meeting with the country’s top judicial officials.

The head of the judicial system of Iran referred to the recent remarks by Nicky Haley, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, who had claimed the missile launched from Yemen towards Riyadh was Iranian-made, and said, “such baseless claims came after the US multiple defeats in the region.”

“They spent a lot of time and money trying to achieve their goals by creating terrorist groups like ISIL in the region, and tried to change the geography of the region according to their plans under the pretext of the presence of ISIS, but with the powerful presence of the Islamic Republic, along with its brothers in the region, ISIS collapsed and their plots were foiled,” Ayatollah Amoli Larijani noted.

Judiciary chief added that “the United States has been isolated after announcing the recognition of Jurasalem al-Quds as the Zionist regime’s capital and we are witnessing that the people in various countries, especially in the occupied territories are continuing their protests against the move.”

Later in his speech, Amoli Larijani elaborated more on the issue of Iran’s missile defense system and said “if Europe is interested in negotiations over our missile defense, first they should allow Iran to enter their missile and defense affiars.”

At the end of his remarks, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani emphasized that “just because Iran faces some economic difficulties, they must not think they can put pressure on Iran and it will give in to their pressures. They must know that our people are vigilant and they have shown many times that they will stand against their conspiracies.”

“All countries and societies of world, and the whole international community stood unanimously against US president in defending Iran and the JCPOA,” said Seyyed Abbas Araghchi Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, on Friday at a ceremony.

“Iran is enjoying an unprecedented approval rate and support in the world today,” asserted the Iranian diplomat, hailing what he called the growing influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region. “As the Leader referred to in last week, Iran had never had as much strength, might, and influence in the region in the history, as it has today,” he maintained.
