COVID-19 in Iran Takes 200 Lives Today

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The daily death toll from COVID-19 in Iran stands at above 200 as of Sunday, as the total number of cases since the outbreak of the disease in the country has surpassed 309,000, the Health Ministry said.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 17,190, saying the disease has taken the lives of 208 patients over the past 24 hours.

She said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has risen to 309,437 following the detection of 2,685 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected since Saturday, 1,423 patients have been admitted to the hospital, she added.

At least 268,102 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman said.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,089 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.

She further said more than 2,508,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 18 million and the death toll has exceeded 689,000.

Iran Reports: Coronavirus Cases Reaching 300,000

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s Health Ministry spokeswoman said the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country is about to hit 300,000.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in Iran has risen to 298,909 following the detection of 2,636 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected over the past 24 hours, 1,604 patients have been admitted to the hospital, she added.

At least 259,116 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman said.

She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 16,343, saying the disease has taken the lives of 196 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,027 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.

The spokeswoman also said more than 2,405,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has exceeded 16.9 million, and the death toll has surpassed 664,000.

Health Ministry: COVID-19 Takes 195 Lives in Iran in 24 Hours

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The spokesperson of Iran’s Health Ministry said on July 25 that another 195 Iranians have succumbed to death due to COVID-19 infection over the past 24 hours mounting the total number of death to 15,484.

According to Sima Sadat Lari, a total number of 2,316 new COVID-19 positive cases have been identified during the said period, and 1,298 of them were hospitalized, IRNA reported.

She noted that since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in Iran in February, a total of 288,839 Iranians have been confirmed infected with the fatal virus while 251,319 of them have recovered and were discharged from hospital.

Some 3,670 other COVID-19 patients are in critical condition and being treated in intensive care units, the spokeswoman said.

She added that 2,302,634 tests have so far been carried out in Iran.
