]]> At the end of 2019 cadet World Championships today in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Iranian Teenage Greco-Roman wrestlers became champions after collecting 4 gold medals.

Amirreza Dehbozorgi (48kg) Saeed Esmaili (51kg), Reza Saki (71kg) and Shahrokh Mikaili (110kg) were the four Greco-Roman wrestlers who won four gold medals for Iran.

Iran won the world championships with 148 points, followed by Azerbaijani and Russian teams in the second and third places with 123 and 99 points, respectively.

Gaining two gold, two silver and two bronze medals and 130 points, Iran’s Greco-Roman team claimed the title of 2018 Cadet World Championships.

At 92 kg, Iran’s Mohammad Nosrati was 3-0 behind the Russian Aleksei Mileshin in the first period, however had a dramatic comeback in the final 20 seconds of the match when he scored a gut wrench and defeated the Russian rival.

Shahin Badaghi Mofrad, at 60 kg, lost the final to Serhat kirik from Turkey and received the silver medal.

In the first day of the competitions, Amirhossein Khounsari at 55 kg snatched the first gold medal for Iran.

Also Sajjad Javid Abbaspour at 48 kg gained silver medal while Hossein Ghasemi and Mohammad Aziz Naghousi were the bronze-winners of Iran.

Russia and Turkey stood next with 108 and 91 points respectively.

2018 Cadet World Championships kicked off on July 2 and wrapped up on July 8 in Zagreb, Craotia.

Iran awarded the top team prize in both freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines.

TEHRAN – Hossein Zare from Iran took a gold medal in the United World Wrestling (UWW) Cadet World Championships in men’s freestyle in Zagreb, Croatia on Tuesday.

In a surprising result, 2018 Cadet Asian champion Zare took out 2017 Cadet World champion Daniel Kerkvliet from the U.S. in the 110 kg final.

The combination of three step outs and two takedowns gave Zare a 7-4 edge and his first Cadet World title.

Furthermore, 2018 Cadet Asian champion Mohammadreza Ghiyasi from Iran lost to Dmitrii Elkanov from Russia 6-2 at 80 kg.

With just four seconds left, Elkanov threw Ghiyasi with double overhooks to take the lead on criteria. Iran’s corner challenged but it failed, resulting in a 7-6 win for Elkanov and a World title.

Iran’s Mohammad Karimi also won a bronze medal at 65kg.

The gold medal went to Azerbaijan’s Turan Bayramov who beat Russian Inalbek Sheriev 4-1 in final.
