On the sidelines of the cabinet meeting, Mr. Eslami said that there is no restriction for foreigners to invest in housing sector in the country and the ministry will welcome foreign investment in this sector.

When asked whether foreign contractors would be used in the new housing project (National Measure Project), Salami refuted the rumor and said that there are enough contractors in the country for the project.
He added that the ministry welcomes any investment in housing and construction sector, noting that every country which is interested in investing in the housing sector in Iran would be welcomed because according to the laws, there is opportunity for foreign investors to join the housing sector investment. He added that there is a good opportunity for investment in the housing sector and people expect the process of housing production to be accelerated and for this reason the ministry will support any opportunity.
Reacting to the U.S. sanctions’ impact on roads and housing sections, he said that U.S. policy is to increase pressure to make Iranian surrender and if Iranians wanted to surrender, they would have been given in up to now.
Salami added that since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution, the country has been under sanctions and the country has achieves successes during sanctions and it has progressed significantly in the construction sector.
