Iran’s consultant to the health and medical education minister announced that the country plans to increase its exports of medical equipment up to ten times to hit $240 million by the end of the present Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2019).
Making the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the 15th International Exhibition of Medical Equipment, Dentistry and Related Industry in the northeastern city of Mashhad, Reza Masaeli, who is also one of the directors at Health and Medical Education Ministry, informed that exports of medical equipment stood at $24 million in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2018).
“Presently, Iran exports medical equipment to 255 countries and has its own pavilion at four of the most prominent international exhibitions,” he said.
“Some 2,200 Iranian companies and 6,100 representatives of foreign companies are active in this sector in Iran,” he added.
The 15th International Exhibition of Medical Equipment, Dentistry and Related Industry, running at Mashhad international fairground, will wrap up on Sunday.
The event is hosting 70 Iranian production, service, and business units as well as several representative companies from Germany, Italy, the U.S., Japan, China, Poland, Ukraine, Pakistan, and Taiwan active in medical equipment and dental instruments.
The participants showcase their latest products and achievements in this sector to the audience.
