TEHRAN – Persepolis coach Branko Ivankovic says that they are determined to overturn first-leg deficit in the AFC Champions League Round of 16 in Tehran.
Persepolis football team lost 3-2 in Abu Dhabi last week and now are hopeful to book a place in the competition’s quarter-final in their home match.
“We know that the Monday’s match will be very important for both teams but we want to advance to the next stage. Persepolis are ready to do that,” Ivankovic said in the pre-match news conference.
“Mohsen Rabikhah and Kamal Kamyabinia have missed this match due to injury but these kind of things are normal. We want to make our fans happy tomorrow,” the Croat added.
““There are no weak teams in the AFC Champions League and you cannot take anything for granted,” he stated.
“You will be punished for every mistake in the AFC Champions League. Al Jazira showed how strong they are in the first leg. However, we will play in front of our fans and I hope they come out and support us. The fans are our 12th man on the pitch,” Ivankovic concluded.
