TEHRAN – The Iranian ensemble Raz-o-Niaz accompanied by vocalist Salar Aqili gave a performance on Monday at the First Bait Al Zubair Festival for Sufi Music in Muscat, Oman.

The performance took place at the Shangri-La Hotel, the organizers have announced.

The ensemble features Aqili’s wife, Harir Shariatzadeh on piano, his son Mahur on tombak, Alireza Daryai on kamancheh and Hossein Mahmudi-Majd on santur.

The Bait Al Zubair Foundation organizes the festival in cooperation with the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa. Bands from Morocco, Oman, Pakistan and several other counties are participating in the event.

Bait Al Zubair is a cultural and heritage complex that is also home to a private museum.

The event opened on January 29 and will be running until February 1.
