Pandemic Hits Iran’s Exports to Turkey, China and India

TEHRAN – The outbreak of Coronavirus has been the major factor in slump in Iran’s exports to Turkey, China and India in the first five months of 2020.
According to reports, Iran’s exports to Turkey in the first five months of 2020 have declined by 87.1% due to the pandemic and closure of borders.
The report reiterates that Iran’s imports and exports have been seriously hit by the pandemic and they are facing a serious challenge because most of borders with neighboring countries are close or half-closed and it has led to decline in the volume of trade. This happens while this year has been named as Year of Surge in Production and one of the factors in surge in production is the increase of non-oil exports.
The statistics show drastic fall in exports in the first five months comparing to the same period in 2019. Although there is a sign of rise in oil products, the total volume of exports has fallen by 3.4 percent.
The trade with Turkey has been seriously hit due to the pandemic, and exports to India and China have also been affected by the virus.
