Iran defeated Germany 4-0 on Tuesday to book a place at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Round of 16.
Younes Delfi scored twice for Iran in the first half while Allahyar Sayyadmanesh and Vahid Namdari rounded of the scoring for the Asian champions.
Germany, who has one of the best strikers in the World Cup, just couldn’t break the resolute Iranian defence, led by Ali Gholamzadeh.
Iran will play Costa Rica on Friday while Germany meet Guinea.
Iran are sitting on top of Group C now with six points from their two matches.
The Iranian team have previously defeated Guinea 3-1 in their opening match.
The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup is the 17th FIFA U-17 World Cup, a biennial international football tournament contested by men’s under-17 national teams.
Organized by FIFA, the tournament is taking place in India between 6 October and 28 October 2017, after the country was awarded the hosting rights on 5 December 2013.
The tournament marks the first time India have hosted a FIFA tournament and the first Asian hosted U-17 World Cup since 2013.
