Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (PTO) says the organization has launched a headquarters to monitor all developments of Iran’s foreign trade and to tackle the destructive effects of Coronavirus.

TEHRAN – Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (PTO) says the organization has launched a headquarters to monitor all developments of Iran’s foreign trade and to tackle the destructive effects of Coronavirus.

Hamid Zadboum said that the TPO has taken some measures to reduce negative impacts on economy by coronavirus and it constantly monitors borders and pursue problems of trade with the neighboring states.

He added that coronavirus will have definitely negative impact on the global economy and Iran is not an exception, adding that PTO in collaboration with Vice-President on Economic Affairs, Health Ministry and Trade Ministry has held several meeting in the past two weeks to study ways to reduce negative impacts of coronavirus on economy.

Zadboum added that despite Coronavirus impact on domestic economy, the TPO is more focused on foreign trade.

He further said the organization set up headquarters for reducing destructive effects of coronavirus on foreign trade by studying solutions to tackle the damages of the virus and the headquarters constantly reviews the consequences of the virus on foreign trade by taking necessary measures.

He admitted that Iran’s economy is currently affected by sanctions, reiterating that damages from the virus are also inevitable but by taking timely measures, the country can minimize the damages.

He urged all organizations and bodies to be committed in providing people’s need and solving their problems in any sector.

Zadboum noted that the organization is currently monitoring the problems of traders at border checkpoints and target countries for exports by cooperation of ambassadors and commercial attaches.
