TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran football is second in Asia in the FIFA World Ranking released on Thursday.
Japan remained as Asia’s best with Palestine the biggest movers as it improved three spots to 103 in the latest.
With limited matches played since the last FIFA World Ranking, Asia’s top 15 remained unchanged with Japan ranked 28th, followed by Iran at 31st.
The Korea Republic, at 40th, is the Continent’s third highest-ranked side, while Australia (42) and Qatar (55) completed the top five.
Palestine (103rd, up 3) was the first biggest climber of 2020. The West Asian side’s success in January’s Bangabandhu Cup saw it leapfrogs Estonia, Trinidad and Tobago, Mozambique and Kenya as it secured the biggest move by points and rank.
Pakistan (200, up 1) also improved its position amidst a rather quiet month in international football.
The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on April 9.
