TEHRAN – Iranian actress Sadaf Asgari was named best for her role in “Disappearance” at the 1st edition of the Fiumicino Film Festival in Italy, the organizers announced on Sunday.
Directed by Ali Asgari, the film is set on a cold winter night in Tehran where a couple of young lovers run into a serious problem. They have just a few hours to come up with a solution.
The Doha Film Institute is the producer of the film, which also went on screen in the Orizzonti (Horizons) section at the 74th Venice International Film Festival in early September.
The winners of the Fiumicino Film Festival was honored during a ceremony in the Italian city of Fiumicino.
Andrea Carpenzano was picked as best actor for his role in Italian film “All That You Want” by Francesco Bruni.
“The Journey” by British director Nick Hamm won the best film award, while “Nothingwood” by Sonia Kronlund from France received the best documentary award.
