TEHRAN (Iran News) – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani emphasized that Iran’s legitimate rights and people’s interests would not be subject to bargaining by any means.

“Iran’s legitimate rights and interests of people of Iran are not bargainable,” Shamkhani said in a meeting of Iranian prosecutors in the northeastern city of Mashhad on Thursday.

He also warned the US and the European governments that if they stick to their current policies in the hope of forcing Iran to retreat, they will certainly achieve nothing but regret.

Shamkhani denounced the US government’s policy of maximum pressures whose objective is to undermine the axis of resistance, saying Washington has employed the tools of fourth-generation warfare to sap the strength of independent nations and erode their structures and elements of power in order to trigger a breakdown from inside.

He then hailed the upcoming parliamentary election in Iran as another manifestation of democracy and a source of power, saying the polls will be held more magnificently than ever in a secure and safe manner and will once again stymie the hostile plots to turn the election into a threat.

He also took a swipe at the US and its allies for taking advantage of the situation in Iraq and Lebanon and of the legitimate economic and social demands of Iraqi and Lebanese citizens to cause insecurity and instability according to the fourth-generation warfare.

The Iranian official expressed confidence that the Iraqi people and religious authorities will once again thwart the plots of the US and its regional allies in the same way that they defeated the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group.

In comments in November 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the diminishing influence of the US government in all areas of power, saying Washington has even discredited “liberal democracy” which is known as the basis of Western civilization.

There is a consensus among major international experts that the US power is dwindling in all areas, the Leader underscored, adding that, conversely, the Iranian nation is moving forward and has a bright future.

Ayatollah Khamenei also branded the US government as the loser of confrontation with the Islamic Republic over the past 40 years, saying the fact in the confrontation between the US and Iran is that “the victorious side in this challenge has been the Islamic Republic of Iran and the loser has been the US.”
