Iran’s Hakim Sabzevari University has signed a cooperation agreement with Iraq’s University of Qurtuba to expand academic, research, and technological cooperation.

TEHRAN (Iran News) Sabzevari University President Ali Tasnimi told reporters on Sunday that the agreement includes faculty and student exchanges, joint training programs, study opportunities, collaborative research projects, and cooperation in organizing scientific and technological exhibitions.

Tasnimi noted that the University of Qurtuba, with around 14 faculties covering engineering, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, basic sciences, and humanities, offers strong potential for joint academic activities.

In addition to signing the cooperation document, two specialized research workshops were held at Hakim Sabzevari University on drug-delivery nanocarriers and the role of stem cells in regenerative medicine, he said.

The sessions were taught by faculty members of the Basic Sciences Department and were well received by participants at the University of Qurtuba, he added.

Hakim Sabzevari University is one of Iran’s 22 major regional universities, with about 9,000 students, 33 academic departments, and 139 majors across undergraduate to doctoral levels. The city of Sabzevar is located 230 kilometers west of Mashhad in Razavi Khorasan Province, northeast Iran.
