New aggression unlikely, but Iran fully prepared to respond to enemies: Top general
TEHRAN (Iran News) Chairman of the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi has warned the enemies not to repeat their past mistakes, noting that the Islamic Republic remains fully prepared to respond harshly to any mischief.
Addressing the graduation ceremony of military cadets, attended by senior commanders on Monday, Major General Mousavi said Iran’s enemies are “inherently savage and aggressive” but they are unlikely to launch another aggression after suffering a heavy blow in June, if they act rationally.
“We are not seeking war, but we are fully prepared,” he stressed, adding that the movements of the enemies are being closely monitored and that Iran’s measure this time will be entirely different.
Recalling the 12-day imposed war, he said the Israeli regime, backed by the United States, tried to evade international disgrace and internal chaos by attacking Iran, but was severely defeated, and was forced to call for a ceasefire in despair.
Major General Mousavi stated that Iran is currently engaged in a full-scale cognitive war, as the enemies, in order to compensate for their defeat and for what they could not succeed through force, bullying and military operations, are now trying to achieve through distortion, rumors, psychological operations, and fabricated narratives.
He also warned about the enemies’ plots, saying they seek to undermine national cohesion and weaken the Iranian nation’s resistance power, asserting that the Armed Forces must maintain the combat readiness and enhance their capabilities gradually.
Referring to the plight of Palestinians, Major General Mousavi called on Iranians to defend the oppressed and downtrodden of the world, chose the right side of history, and stand up to bullying.
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces said the US and Israel have been using media for decades to portray themselves as righteous, but their criminal, bloodthirsty, and child-killing nature has been exposed to the world with the war on Gaza.
