Armed Forces prepared to respond to threats: Iran top commander
TEHRAN (Iran News) Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Chairman of the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, reassured the Iranian nation of the military’s readiness to confront any bullying threats.
In a message marking the 45th anniversary of the Iraqi invasion of Iran in 1980, the commander emphasized that the armed forces, leveraging their capabilities and strategic innovations, are prepared to deliver timely and decisive responses that will make enemies regret their actions.
Reflecting on the eight-year Sacred Defense (the 1980–1988 Iran–Iraq War), General Mousavi described it as a significant phase of resistance and resilience against global arrogance.
Mousavi noted that this experience has become an invaluable asset for Iran, teaching critical lessons in faith, self-reliance, and national unity, which have driven the Islamic Republic toward defensive self-sufficiency and advanced technology.
He highlighted recent confrontations, particularly the 12-day war of aggression imposed by the Israeli regime, as further evidence of Iran’s ability to transform threats into opportunities for showcasing national strength.
The commander underscored the importance of comprehensive defense, advanced technological development, and readiness to counter hybrid warfare, especially cognitive warfare.
The major general also acknowledged the crucial role of the officials, the resilient people, and the families of military personnel in supporting national defense efforts.
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs and veterans, reinforcing the commitment to uphold their legacy.
According to the commander, under the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian military stands ready to convert every challenge into a chance for growth and enhanced security in the region and beyond.
